Tailoring skillups--int, wis ?dex?

I have been out of things for a while. I checked the faq and there doesnt seem to be any info more current than dec 02.

Has anyone ever confirmed dex to be equal to int or wis when figuring skillups?

Dex is completely ignored - just int or wis, whichever is higher.

Well, first off, Dec 02 is only about 2 months ago, that's fairly recent.

Second, I think verant has stated, on more than one occasion, that dex is the alt stat for tailoring, like str for smithing. They've also stated on multiple occasions "oops, we didn't put that in yet; I was told we had."

Folks around here have tested it in various methods, and found (to my understanding) no real proof that this is, indeed, in game and working.

So, I think the current answer is "Yes it is, but it isn't." IE -- should be, but not working or not noticable.

Since I'm doing everything anyway, my rogue's saving up to keep buying more int gear, just to be on the safe side

edit: Well, Chenier's post indicates that i may be out of date with my understanding Thats what I get for a 18 month absence from EQ and trying to correlate all the new stuff into my world

Secondary stats

Just my 2 copper on DEX and secondary stats. Does it really matter if it is a secondary stat or not when there is no conclusive evidence what the effect of that stat is? If the effect was noticable, it would probably have been widely discovered. Just get INT/WIS high as you can without significant investments.

There was a long period of time in which VI/SOE had told us that dex was a secondary stat for tailoring (and have since repeatedly said no, it isn't).

I think, however, there are many people who still believe that it is - to the point of a superstitition. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with tradeskill superstititions, as long as you know that it is not proven fact nor official word from SOE.
