  • Vale Sewing Kits...

Where can i find these in Rivervale?

  • #2
Check NPC merchants near the Vale Forge in Rivervale. Halflings can make Vale sewing kits to raise their smithing skill to 162.

In other words, Vale sewing kits can only be made by halflings since you need to use the halfling cultural forge to make the combination.

Check the Halfling cultural recipes page in the "Smithing - Vale Forge" section for details.

I made my own Vale Sewing Kit last night *hop* had a Smithing Skill of 77 at the time, bought enough components to attempt the combine 5 times and got the Sewing Kit on the first try plus I got a skillup. Made 4 more attempts with the remaining components. Didn't make any more kits, but got another skillup with Smithing I was VERY Lucky

Why in the world would anyone use vale sewing kits to skill up on?!? For Karanas sake, they use Acron oil in the combine!!! Anyways, shout around long enough and you'll find a halfling with the needed smithing skill (its around 122 that your get a decent success rate) to make a sewing kit. Honestly though, go ahead and skill yourself up enough to make it, you'll need the skill to make velium/acrylia studs and boning anyways. (also that 8th shawl needs a little smithing skill).

My halfling tailor has 178 smithing, but I got it up to 175 when you could get there with banded armor. I'd suggest getting to the 120s and skill up on these.
Tailoring, why did I ever start tailoring? *sob*

Hi there, It appears you have your recipe for vale kits wrong.

The recipe for Vale seweing kits is 1 HQ metal bit, 1 needle mold, 1 thimble mold, 1 flask of water. And the trivial is 162 if I remember right.

subcombine: 2 unstacked small pieces HQ ore 1 flask of water yields 1 HQ metal bit

subcombine: FS weapon and 1 fask of water yields HQ ore in various amounts

None of that need acorn oil

I just made a huge batch of them for myself and guildies

              24 attempts

              17 success
              9 skillups

went from 138 to 147 in skill

And since HQ ore is easily obtainable for free(after a few hours hunting in Paw or Rathe mountains melt down all those FS weapons for Ore)

It is a really really cheap and efficient way to skill up you smithing skill once you are high enough to hunt the FS weapons.

At a skill of 219 using geerlok I am making Haversacks about 80% of the time. Skilling up on these is not really viable since it takes so many tufts just to make one. It is quite worth your time to make them however, they sell extremely well.

                    Remember Runnyeye???

Just a side note on this, but any old school halfie tailors remember the pain of having to stalk the **** goblin janitor to make their kit?? These young whippersnappers have it too easy these days

I remember the change, but I had also kept 20pieces of high quality ore in the bank before the switch/vale kit was introduced. Think I got them from Sola or Permafrost.

Lol only time that my hoarding has actually ever paid off !

Having only recently made my Vale Sewing Kit (and not being much of a smither) I have to say I went after the janitor thinking that was my only option for the ore (the guide DOES refer to ore, but doesn't make it clear that the janitor is now an option rather than the other way).

Luckily, a wood-elf who is a lot brighter than this little halfling realised what I was doing and showed me the error of my ways...
