  • 159+ session coming up, guess on my success and give advice?

    Greetings,

As soon as the expansion comes out im going to run my post Wu's skillup session ive been building up supplies for. I am only waiting on the small chance they make a positive change to tailoring.

Anyone want to guess what my results will be? # of skillups? successes? Also any suggestions on the order to do everything? prob just do masks to maximize supplies.

I could throw in 50 or so solstice robe combines also if any can suggest when is best so not to make too many robes, that would slow me down too much.

My skill is currently at 159, wis255 + will get wis buff just because + geerlok when needed.

I have all the supplies (studs, boning, oils, etc) to make the following though by the patch it will prob be 20% more or so hopefully.

    24 superb rockhopper hides
    30 flawless rockhopper hides
    61 arctic wyvern hides
    4 cobalt drake hides
    13 othmir furs
    24 tigeraptor hides

I am going for 15 skillups from that .

Personally, I would just do the Superb Hides myself, and wait until you triv those before trying the others. But I believe in being as close to the triv value, if there is one for the product that a player can reach, will maximise skillups.

With 154 attempts for Skillups with everything you have? I'd say between 10 and 15 skillups.

I would have to agree-10-15 skill ups depending on how nice the RNG is feeling

With maxed int, I've been getting a skillup every 7 combines on average (though that's over only about 60 combines, so a small sample set), so you might get as high as 180 or so on what you've got. Things don't really start slowing down in most skills until the mid-180's, though I can't speak personally to tailoring as I'm only at 167...

As to what order to do things in, I'd do acyrlia studded first, as it's the only option where you're anywhere close to the trivial. After that I'd throw in the 50 solstice robe combines you mentioned. Then, if you don't want to go buy or farm more superb hides, go for the acrylia reinforced (flawless hides) at that point, then the rest in whatever order you feel like; they're all 250+, so purely for skillup purposes, it doesn't much matter.

And just to go way out on a limb, I'll guess you'll end up with 17 pieces of acrylia studded, 2 solstice robes, 12 pieces of acrylia reinforced, 7 pieces of arctic wyvern, 3 othmir, 1 tigeraptor, and a miserable 0/4 on the cobalt drake.

No guess but a suggestion to do the robes early (right after acrylia studded). They suck after ya start having alot of successes

                (that’d be 21 skillups)

Like most others here, I'd imagine, I remember getting 2 -3 skillups per stack of attempts at that level. Now that I've just topped 200, it's more like 2-3 stacks per skillup. But, if you throw in the robe combines, I'm gonna go out on a limb and predict 24 total skillups.

I'm not feeling as generous in this regard, however. While I agree that the studded acrylia is pretty easy from the get-go (I'll see your 17 and raise you 2), the rest are far more difficult. I see 0 robes, 2 pieces of reinforced, 3 wyvern masks, and maybe 2 other items from the othmir, tigeraptor, drake line.

Still, for me at least, success is defined by skillups, not items made!
                Good Luck with your run!
