  • Pearl Diving

No matter how advanced I become at Tailoring I always feel like a Lvl 1 NooB when I move on to something else.
I am about to embark on Wu's armor. (Yeah!) I have a couple hundred swatches and am fairly adept at Kiola. But I am in the dark as to how to produce sufficient quantities of Viscuous Mana.
Can you farm the pearls needed or are you better off buying them? And what would be a fair price to offer enchanters to cast the spell?
    I'd appreciate any suggestions

I would say that buying the pearls would work better. :/ I don't know of anywhere that consistently drops peals. On the other hand, you should keep any you get as drops.

I'm not certain how much the pay normally is. My husband tailors and I have a level 12 enchanter. When he had vials left, he put them on her in the bazaar while I was at work for nine plat and basically split the profit with me. Anyway, they disappeared fairly quickly (on my server, Tholuxe) at nine plat, apparently.

    Hope that helps.

While I was farming for Crystalline Silk in CC, I had Pearls drop at a decent rate although it was not what you would call regular. If you consider it took me over 350 combines to trivial Wu's, the drop rate for Pearls in CC was poor. I managed to collect 22 Pearls while in CC.

For your troubles? buying them is the way to go. At just over 4 PP each with a 105+ Cha, it's fairly cheap.

The evil eyes in Beholder (and EK if you find them there) drop mid-range gems (amber, jade, pearls, topaz, etc.) with some regularity. That said, if you need them in bulk, camping them will take far too long.

The problem, of course, is that if you need a specific gemstone, chances are that's the one gemstone that will never drop.

For what it is worth, the Ice Giants in Everfrost drop a nice amount of pearls, topaz, and amber not to mention a decent amount of plat. So, if you feel like farming plat, and getting xp, that would be a good place to go, because gems drop 1 out of 3 spawns. FYI-they are 40+ mobs, but us mid 30's did them in a group, if that helps at all.
