  • Are there PH's for Haze Panthers?

Over the last few monthes, I've basically given up going for Exp or Raids and been doing a helluva lot of farming in DSP and TM to make Acrylia Studded and Acrylia Reinforced armor (whoa is me). While it is a very slow process to get those components to make the armor to try for skillups, I feel the end result is worth the doing.

That said, I'm wondering if any of you know how to make Haze Panthers spawn in Wakening Lands. To do something different than just Acrylia Reinforced, since I've trivialed Acrylia Studded I'm looking in other directions when I end up in zones where I know I can gather components for other tailored items. I have killed numerous Panthers and collected some Black Panther Hides but I cannot seem to find any Haze Panthers.

I know they are invis and when I am in WL I have an Acumen or Detect Invis up to search em out, but no Druids or Rangers this past weekend said they saw any up while I was running around searching.

Even if they are rare spawns and the Haze Panther Hides are hard to come by I'd like to do even one combine to see if I can succeed. Some of the stats on those pieces would do me some good

The haze panther are, indeed, rare and stingy. Most of the times I am in WL, I will see black panthers up but no haze panthers. The hides are not a common drop from the haze panthers -- which is why traders in The Bazaar ask for a lot for them.

They seem to have the same difficulty making as the other Velious leathers, or about 50% at 250 and 5% at 200.

Yes, the regular "a panther"s are the place holders for "a haze panther". Slaughter black panthers and the haze panthers will spawn rarely and dropo their skins even more rarely.

Make sure you cast see invis on yourself as Haze panthers like to cast invis. When hunting for Haze's, I generally kill black panthers, holgresh, and any raptors I run into on the off chance they are on the same spawn table.

I have killed literally thousand of black panthers and over a hundred haze panthers. They are on the same spawn table. I also beleive through experience that some holgresh may aslo be PH for panthers. I have identified a few set wander paths, one which goes near the see invis giants near kael(am not kos to them). It is almost always a holgresh, BUT i have seen a panther appear in that slot on occasion. The same holgresh always ends his route in that spot and have never seen another in his route when it is up, so I belive that the panther that appears occsionally when i kill that holgresh is indeed on the same spawn slot.
I seek out holgresh and try to kill to prevent adding on me, and haze have also popped when i was only killing holgresh. Quite often I am only one in zone, so it is not due to other people killing. I have never seen a haze or holgresh elder despawn, so doubt the other mobs do either.

Best bet, kill every panther you see and all holgresh. Haze panthers will pop. Most i seen up at one time is 4. Eyes seem to be more common than hides in my experience. To date i have gotten personally over 400 black panther hides, a dozen haze hides and around 20 eyes.

I usually kill anything that runs into me.....

Anyway, a decent spot to get tons of panther adds... is just out in front of the bridge to PoG. If you stand out there, you should have enough adds, which is pretty much all WL is, to have one long continuois fight until you get tired and need a break, gate, or die.

Best spot for pulling panthers is by either of the 3 spawn faun outcasts IMO.....

But anyways back to the topic at hand. Mercenaries, Holgresh, Elder Holgresh, A black panther, and I believe even the Sifaye (though not the stationary ones) are all on the same spawn cycle as the haze panther. When hunting haze panthers remember to cast see invis as they are invis at all times except when agroed or the first few seconds they spawn. Problems arise for those on Kael faction when mercenaries start spawning as you lose a spot that a panther could spawn, also remember good races/classes are not KoS to the Sifaye and if you wish to remain that way (trust me when hunting panthers Sifaye are very annoying to have add) you also lose a PH spot to them.

Good job keeping see invis for yourself but when you ask a tracker if they have any on track make sure they also have a form of see invis or the haze wont show on their track screen.

                  They really are inv?

Wow... never noticed. I've killed hundreds of panthers as well, my best guess is, only the black panthers are PHers for the hazes. Of all the numbers of regular panthers I have killed, I would say each one has about a 5% chance of spawning a Haze.

Corse that's my thoughts on the matter, don't know how true it is, but to me, it seems pretty well.
