  • PoTC Nerfed?

Failure rate on the jewelling and tailoring section of this quest appears to have gone way up.

Normally I get 10 successes out of 20 on the gem studded chain combine - as of 15th Feb its down to 3 out of 20. This was going so badly I camped, zoned and did a little dance in the middle - no change - still dire success rate. This was for JC 250, int 255 with GM jewellers trophy.

Friend of mine who does the tailoring bit has the same. Down from 50% success rate to zero on the final solstice robe combine. She is 220 tailor with geerlock and 255 wisdom

    Anyone else?

    Cross-Posting is bad.

The post in the Jewelcraft forum or this one would have sufficed.

That said, a pinch of salt over the shoulder tends to help.

        Re

i had too good a results on the robes this weekend-had silk leftover and ran out of chains. Skill 213, 6 robes out of 18 combines. 33% success at 213 isnt nerfage i dont think. Probably just bad RNG. Two weeks ago, (prior to last patch) I had horrid results on chains too. Just bad RNG....

Sounds like you just had an extremely long run of bad luck. I did a couple gem studded chain combines this weekend and went 3 for 4 at 250jc + trophy.

Last time I tried the robe combines I was still holding at 50% with 250 tailoring + trophy.

Think you just had bad luck, although i tried to make a robe for a guy a few days ago, and at 220 skill + geerlok i made around 1 in 3 tries, but that day at 250 skill GM needle i made only 1 in 7 tries.

I'd love it for the tailoring part on robes if I dont make any. Skill > robe sorry folks.

              213 tailoring

I've made 6 out of 43 combines last time I tried. No skill gain /sigh

I recommend trying to find an enchanter who has gm'ed jewelry, has his/her trophy and the jewelry mastery AA's.

My friend (who has this) has made 44 out of 44 during one run and 70 out of 77 in another.

He also believes that getting full buffs (including strenth, agi, etc.) helps. With his success rate, I'm more than willing to fancy his whims. =)

You aren't going to find much sympathy from folks here that are trying to skill up. The chains are the most expensive part of the robe, and people are happy to fail this combine.

This weekend I started off a big tradeskill run with 100 potc robes.

I had a chain from before but ended up having to make more. I have 250 jc but didnt use geerlok/trophy/aa and went 5/6. According to my figures, they made the chains too easy. Really though, it's all RNG.

On top of this, the 100 combines took me from 197=>202. I was a happy gnome. 6/100 robes though, now that was annoying.

Don't say "too easy" on the chains so fast you'll have every jeweler/tailor involved in the process come down on you...true you get some good runs...guarenteed you wouldn't always get a good run.

You failed to read the whole sentence you quoted from me. Here's the last part of it in case you missed it.

My point was there are good and bad runs. It's all RNG.
