Deluxe Sewing Kits

I have had these for ever and always used them, but the other day I tried making a backpack in one and got the dreeded Does not combine in this container message. Is there a change in the DSK or what. Sorry if it is old new but havent been around in a while

I don't me to be sarcastic or mean, but make sure you are using the proper items. I can figure you know this and are using the proper materials but I thought I'd be sure

Also, someone in another message said they were having a problem with their erudite kit while other people were not having any. Might you be having a problem with the kit itself? If so, I hope my Deluxe kit is not having the same problem.

Just to make sure the items were correct I went to the local Loom and did the combine. So yes I had the right components.

Because this is a "Deluxe" sewing kit, I'd be careful to get it replaced if it happens to be bugged. Since you cannot get any 10 slot Sewing Kits any longer. I happen to love the fact that I don't need a Loom and can go where I please to do my combines when it requires more than 8 components to combine something. As well, I can carry 10 items in that slot and not 8 and don't have to put the sewing kit in the bank.

Yes I do manage to fill up every slot in every bag I carry. Especially when farming Acrylia. When you have 6 Tinker Bags, 1 Rallic Pack and the Deluxe Sewing Kit, you can carry alot without going overweight :twisted: 8)

you had a rat's whisker in it. some black item that was hard to see. I just did the same thing myself the other day. deluxe kits still work just fine.

I had two deluxe kits on my halfling that I rarely ever play. They were a gift from a friend who left game. I brought him on a few time just because its fun to role-play a halfling ranger from time to time and noticed my deluxe kits had been changed into vale sewing kits. They’re still 10 slot, but they can only be used by halflings now. I don’t know enough about vale kits to know if there are any other differences. I thought about placing a bug report, but I’m sure this happened a while back and doubt they’d be willing to do anything about it.

Does your kit still say it’s a deluxe sewing kit?

I'm having the same problem with a rallic pack combine, i have a a shade silk cord, rallic pack patter, and perfect owlbear pelt. I've tried combining in a coldain, deluxe, large, planar and loom sowing kit. Everytime i get a cannot combine message. I double checked the recipe on allakhazam too.

You need to add a shade silk thread in there, too. Then it will work just fine for you

I have been using my deluxe sewing kit to make solstice robes over the past week, so I am positive it works just like it always has. Just to clarify, I just checked my kit and it wasn't changed to a vale sewing kit, I have one vale kit and 2 deluxe kits.....all three are still named what they were and still work how they did. No problems here.

My guess would be that you either have a bugged deluxe sewing kit, or you had another item in the deluxe sewing kit that you weren't aware of when you clicked combine.

I've got about 8 Deluxe kits on Luclin, did a little bit of tailoring yesterday also with no issues. My guess is those darn rat whiskers

I logged on my mage last night for about 5 minutes just to check this.

Backpack made with no issue in a Deluxe Sewing Kit.

I've got about 8 of them stashed on various characters.

I'd also figure you had a bugged container, or there's something in one of the slots that you can't see with the background you've chosen. I've had it happen with both rat whiskers, and with the bundle of optic nerves from the evil eyes in the gorge. Same graphic I believe.

Did that last night. I was using crystalline silks to get to 131. Got a will not combine using my deluxe sewing kit. I checked Traders and realized I was using raw silk and not my swatches

BUT I did reach 131! Now to find a friendly enchanter.

I also did a few backpacks last night for a friend and my Deluxe Kit works just fine. Run your cursor over any slot in the DSK while holding ALT. This will show you any and everything that's in that container.
