  • Tailored Fantastic Bags...what a ripoff

There are only very minor differences between the making of a fantastic bag v. legendary bag.
    Trival slightly less than legendary
Uses 2 fewer dream dusts, which is nothing

Yet, you cannot further expand or improve on the tailored fantastic bags...? why? You are forever stuck with an inferior bag yet you used the same extreme-cost components & similarly absurd trivial rates to make.

I strongly hope an expansion option eventually comes to make these also 14 slots even if it means they remain heavier & less weight reduction than the legendary versions.

    Proposal:
    Tailored Fantastic Bag + 2x Dream Dust + 2k component = 14slot 2stone 90pct WR bag.

Especially with the apparent rarity of the drops. Silks and Pelts are still going for 25K and up EACH!!!

    Two Silks (50K~) + one Pelt (25K~) + two Dream Dust (1K~) + components = Almost 100K for a friggin bag!!!

There is a Trader on Povar selling the unexpanded bags for 49.9K each. Sounds like a HUGE friggin ripoff until you look at the price to make your own!

I'm gonna wait this one out for a while...

The expansion is only two weeks old at this point, and prices have already dropped sharply from where they were. The necessary pelts won't be available off bazaar vendors for 1K for quite a while, but I'm guessing that offering 1K as a buyer will start getting hits within a month.

Silks are currently 15K in the Bazaar (5pm PST) and Pelts are 50K (3 different traders...).

The cost is even worse when you factor in success rates - I'm on 1 success out of 12 attempts so far /sigh

The prices for materials are seriously out of control right now. I have 300 tailoring, all the related TS AAs, and my trophy maxed, and I just sell my TS components. With prices this high right now and knowing they'll likely go down over time I can't justify trying to actually make anything with them right now. Maybe if I had a spinneret fluid or something I'd try to make an armor piece, but I'm not going to give up 200K+ worth of materials (when you adjust for failures) for an extra 4 inventory slots.

Ok, I'm a hypocrite. I got a couple of pelt drops the other day and since I already had the rest of the materials (except for the vendor purchased parts) I went ahead and tried to make a couple of bags. Success on both! Combine this with the change today to the master trophy bags and you're looking at one happy mage.

The Trophies now produce the 12 Slot Master Bags.

Yeah, the success rate on the unexpanded legendary bags is appalling. At 300 skill+master trophy (so, 336) and no tradeskill mastery, for 7 successes, I'm sure I had in excess of 100 failures.

Spending the smedbucks to get a draught of the craftsman and then doing a big run all at once is the best way to mitigate this, but be prepared to still lose components until the draught is fixed (see my post about it in general discussion for details).

Oh...and the prices seem to be leveling off on the components. On any given day, silks will generally go up for 4K or less and pelts for 5K or less at some point during the day (at least, on my server)...the key is just to check often.

They are getting to be the same on Povar, but still quite a bit higher for the Spinnerets (still going for 25K or more...).

Cazic is a lot higher prices still. 5-10k per silk, 10-15k per pelt, still 40K+ for loam/marrows/fluids.

Good advice and as far as the draught goes, I would not worry too much though just be smart about what you are doing and tradeskilling can be a lot of fun.

As far as your success rate, I believe these were designed around having a specific success rate against someone with 300 skill + 15% trophy AND mastery 3 aa. My only suggestion on success rate issues is get your trophy up to 15% and get the mastery aa.

Yeah, I know Ngreth planned for these things to have a fixed success rate when attempted by top-of-the-line tailors, but I can't see spending my AAs on tradeskill stuff until I've de-gimped myself (I'm still level 75, and am only now getting to the point where I've got the majority of the AAs that aid in either killing or avoiding being killed). Obviously, I'm saving all the drops I get while I'm grinding, so it's possible that by the time I'm 90, I'll have enough stuff to max my trophies, but right now, I just can't justify buying stuff and doing that painful run of combines just for another 3% on my trophy (and yeah, I know the 15% trophies summon 12-slot bags, but since I'm already carrying all 14-slot or better...eh.)

Success rate is appalling with maxed AA's and trophy - am on 15 successes from 41 attempts.
Fantastic bags are much better - 7/10.

I've wasted much more money on the new weapons and augs though - 3/12 on weapons (25-30k per loam) and 1/8 on weapon symbols (30k per spinerette) - ouchies!

I think I'm at 4 successes in 5 attempts on legendary bags with 300 skill, max AAs, and 15% trophy. Sounds like the RNG is still as much in play as ever.

averaging 1 in 8 succeeding on the legendary pack, with 345 skill, and all AA's (including salvage). Really these triv's seemed geared to sellf Draught of the Craftsmen.
