Erudite cultural questions

OK I can obtain the quests for what looks to be the augs.
I did the initial portion of the quest with the fingers and belt pouch

What i expected to get next was
You say, 'what pattern?'

Gorion Telld`mare says 'The meanings of the more advanced inscriptions continue to elude me. I've long ago exhausted this city's vast libraries. Now, I require a field agent to seek out new information and artifacts. Would you be interested in leading expeditions to [Kerra Isle], the [Stonebrunt], [Siren's Grotto], or the newly-discovered [valley] beyond the lavastorm mountains? If you are able to recover more information for me, I can further my studies and reward you with more armor patterns drafted by our ancestors. What say you?'




However what i get from patterns looks to skip directly to the symbols section with no options for the previous 4 armor books?

Ive browsed around to see some posts that the quests have changed .. but nothing that might say what about them did.

Any ideas?

There are no Erudites in my family, but I visited my cultural armor quest person. Here is what he says (abridged).

/hail Artisan Calian Silverlake (tradeskill quests)

him: .... Perhaps you have come in search of lessons on how to create some new [armor]? ....

me: /say armor

him: I thought you might be interestred in my new [designs]. Your current armor looks a bit worn. .... You may also be interested interested in the [runes] I have discovered for these armor pieces.

Do "/say designs" and you get one option, that being to bring back some simple components. That completed, Wood Elves get the book Ancestral Wood Elven Armor. Using this book and some purchased components gives you a bag of either tailoring patterns or smithing molds, depending on what components, besides the book, you select. The components are enumerated in the book. By the way, you can use the book with the other components and make patterns/molds for the other skill.

Do "/say runes" and the npc gives you the choice of zones, such as you report above, for aug patterns.

1 Armor, 6 symbols, 1 seal

One "Ancestral Armor" quest. The resulting book is used to make either molds or patterns for all levels of cultural armor.

Six different augment quests. The resulting books are used for symbol patterns for a specific level symbol: Blessed, Revered, Sacred, Eminent, Exalted, Sublime. These quests are level restricted; that is, you must be the required level for the symbol to get the quest.

One seal quest. The resulting book makes seal patterns, used for the type 12 augments.
