Coming back - cultural questions

I just came back... make my first templates to get back on track tailoring wise... and it seems some templates cannot be used to make armour?

Like Excellent leather templates doesn't get any armour recipies while superb does...

Did i read my info correctly? Do they have any other use?

Been searching for the past hour or so... and haven't been able to find a firm answer to this, just strong evidences

there are some excellent charts out on the boards that detail which ones do make armor, and which ones are there only for helping as a skillup path.

Personally I prefer the first one as it highlights the *junk* you can delete

You read everything correctly. They were added as an additional skill-up path to help minimize the larger jumps between the armor producing versions. At least you can sell the templates to get close to breaking even to the cost of successful combines. You won't make plat, but should make your plat go farther.
