it makes... backpacks. The tutorial should have instructions. (I did not put it in, just made the recipes for Rytan who was working on the tutorial)

Backpack Leather

Thanks, Ngreth. I saw the original backpack recipe was thrown in on the last page of the tailoring tutorial, but it says nothing about using the piece of backpack leather. Which tutorial are you referring to?
With the ready availability of the combine to make backpack leather, could you not combine it with a backpack pattern to make a simple folded daypack? It could stack to 20 or be unfolded into a small 4 slot container. It's only real use would be to sell to a merchant for a small sum, similar to the throwing knives on the smithing side. Just an idea to kick around.

Backpack leather

Couldn't find a reference for it, but it does show up in the sewing kit:

Gloomingdale Backpack = Backpack leather (x2) + Spool of simple thread

Now, off to find the thread!

I think this may be bugged, it appears that the Spool of Simple Thread doesn't exist in game, we had a discussion about it and no one was able to find it.

Not in Gloomingdeep

No "Spool of Simple Thread" available on the vendors in Gloomingdeep. If it's a drop, noone sold any lately. I also found no "Backpack Leather".

I ran 3 characters thru Gloomingdeep when it first came out. I do not recall making a backpack then. I can find no quest nor ingredients to make one now.

My guess is that it was a quest that did not get implemented.

Ngreth? I just checked that NPC on the Fennin Ro server.. he does not have the thread. I took a screen shot... soon as I figure out how to get it here I will.

It's not private, but you have to be logged into MySpace to see it. It's a screenshot of the vendor window, showing he doesn't have the thread in stock.

I think I figured it out. The URL doesn't actually point to the picture for some reason; it comes up as a dud. What I did was click the link in her sig (to get to her MySpace page), then click the pictures link there, log in to MySpace when prompted, and then I could see it.

Let me see if I can insert it directly into this post...
