Yes, 215...my bad for missing it. I don't have a researcher.

hmm gues im dumber that i thought. How do I get alchemy to 800? are you adding your prime stats and say trophy>? ie my blacksmith hasa 525 str and a 345 BS with thropy, BS and salvage 3. Woudl that equal 870?

You don't get it to 800. That's the stat number that WOULD be required to make success not matter while skilling up. Also, note the last sentence in my post:
Of course, several of these are unattainable currently.

After thinking on it for a bit, I decided to post a bit more of an explanation for you.

Generally speaking, you are more likely to gain a skillup on a success than a failure (up to twice as likely.) If you get your applicable stat (int/wis usually) high enough, though, you eliminate this difference. At that point, the skillup chance is the same on success as it is on failure.

The applicable stat depends a bit on which tradeskill you are doing:
---For Smithing, it is the highest of int, wis, or str.
---For Fletching or Poison Making, it is the highest of int, wis, or dex.
---For all else, it is the higher of int or wis.

The reason the values are different for the list is that different tradeskills have different "difficulties". For instance, Smithing is easier than Pottery...meaning that each combine is more likely to result in a skillup. Usually, the easier skills (Research, Smithing, Tailoring, Tinkering, Poison Making) require farming to get materials moreso than the harder skills.

Anyway, the formulas used to determine whether you get a skillup look at this difficulty. That's why smithing needs a stat of 400 to equalize the success/failure and fletching would need 800. The 15s come into play because only Smithing, Fletching, and Poison Making look at your actual skill. The others look at your skill - 15.
