  • Tropy: Evolve Expert or do Master

I got my Expert level Tailoring Tropy at skill 252. I've just gotten to 300 on all the new templates/armor, doing a lot of fine, some excellent and then the last 16 points in superb. As a High Elf, I could make the silk armor but not the leather. And I was slightly limited in Spinneret fluid in that. So the armor was getting higher skill rates for the silk.

During that skill raise, my Trophy has ended up at 81% evolution. Which was disappointing. I was hoping for higher. I had thought these were designed to max around the time you would be skilled to the next level or sooner. I wonder if the bonus on the armor skill raise messes with that?

So the question - keep evolving the Expert trophy, or destroy it, redo the quest and get the Master trophy.

Can you even redo the quest?

Or is there some turn-in somewhere that says hey you're 300 already, lets bump this up to Master?

    Thanks for the input.

Keep evolving it, it will catch up very fast.

It cannot account for "bonus skillups" properly.

Since you were doing cultural you skillup up "faster than normal"

Also... the whole tradeskill system is based on "luck" because of that... the trophy has some variance.

You were lucky on skillups more than successes... this made the trophy evolve "slow" because it is based on successes not skillups.

At 81% and the availability of non trivial combines above 300 now, I would do combine to evolve the trophy. It should take less than 20 successful combines to evolve to the next level.

Of all things to be disappoined about this is a very, very minor one. The trophy is coded to evolve fast when it falls behind, and it means you had lots of luck skilling up, which is FAR, FAR, FAR better than having a nice 200 or 300 or 400 drought run without a skill up. (If that had happened, would this have been another tailoring is broken post, verses I'm disappointed post? who knows).

Yep, you guys were right, it only took 15 or so successes to get it to evolve. Now that its Master, I used up the remainder of my supplies to get it to 25%.

And I should say I was completely overjoyed to get Tailoring to max after so very many years. I had dreaded it so much previously that I just didn't try anymore. I'm very very pleased with these templates and patterns. Even maxing the trophy seems in reach now.

This wasn't so much a "I'm dissappointed" post, as a "what's the best route to go now" post? I didn't realize it would evolve so fast now - faster than it was. I don't know my total combine count for 250-300. (I did have a day where I went about 100 template combines with one raises, but I just put the needle away and started out again the next day - bad RNG). Doing the cultural is definitely noticibly faster skill ups than the templates.

Thanks a bunch for asking the question and providing the answers . I am in the exact same position and was wondering to myself the same thing!
