Does tailoring have a negative skillup chance again?

a while ago there was a problem where the skill up chance was actually negative. after doing roughly 500 combines at 284 skill with 444 in all stats, i'm thinking its back.

anyone else having this issue lately? 500 combines at that skill level is ridiculous, and that was just today. i did more a few days ago to get to 284.

i am in the process of looking for some outrageously priced old quest item or such to skill up to 300 on now lol. blowing all that cash on pelts/silk and getting no skill ups is just as expensive.

I hate to say it, but this sounds like a run of horrid luck. Every once in a while, we all get one of those. About as often, we get a run of three or four skillups in a row. We tend to remember the long, bad stretches more, though.

My advice would be to just keep trying. There's light at the end of that tunnel!

I got my Vah Shir up to 300 just a couple days ago, and I will say that the skill ups were coming at pretty much the rate I was expected. I do not think that tailoring is broken at this time the way it was.

If you want to get a better chance for skill ups, make symbols instead of templates.

good idea to try the symbols for skill ups thanks bought a bunch of marrow and thats the plan now...i did do around 80 of them and got a skill up so i guess thats about on par.

i still think something is fishy :P i have never done that many skill ups and not received a skill up except for tailoring. had some long streaks in jc and pottery but not that long.

ok so i made a ogre sewing kit and did maybe 70 combines and got mega skill ups. i think the loom's in pok/bazaar and even in oggok might have some issues. i think it might be something worth looking into, i remember reading along these lines for the guild hall tradeskill combiners (for lack of a better word lol)

Pretty sure that your chances of skilling up are not related to the container you are doing the combines in. I just got to 300 tailoring a couple days ago. the last couple points were murder to get but that is normal. To get to 300 from 299 took me 80+ combines of superb silk/leather/cultural/energiac. I begged and pleaded with friends for materials.

Also just for the record, the ONLY items that had the negative skill up chance were the SILK templates. All of them had a reduction in the skill up chance but it was only the fine and better that had a negative chance. The leather at that time still worked fine. I got skill ups on my last climb to 300 off of superb silks so I can verify that there is no issue.
