  • 250 to 300 what is best?

Having just returned to EQ after a 3 year break, I find that the skill caps have been increased and that I am no longer a Grand Master (/cry). (But they will never take away my GM Needle!)

I would like to get from 250 to 300.

What are the best/cheapest combines to achieve this?

Either sunshard ores or the new cultural combines. The TBS sunshard ore prices have dropped slightly since the SoF cultural drops but they are still around the 1kpp range.
Other than sunshard ores you will want to stockpile excellent silk and higher to make the new SoF templates.

I would take an incrimental approach. I went from 250-252 on these guys:

At 252, prices for Pristine Silk are much lower than other vendored ones and that can get you to 255 despite using more silk:

After that, look at Fine Silks and Fine Animal Pelts -- a lot depends on what your cultural is. Fine Animal Pelts (for Wristbands) get you to 272 and save everything you make because you can then use the Templates along with Hemic Marrow (which is still very cheap in the bazaar) to get extra credit from the bonus chance to skill up on Intricate Leather Armor.

Once the above get too pricy, I would focus on Excellent Silks/Excellt Animal Pelts and Superb Silks/Superb Animal Pelts which for Excellent trivial around 310 for the lowest ranking item.

If you have the cash to burn, Intricate armor/Sacred symbols are by far the best way to go. The hardest part is acquiring the components, but the skillup bonus for the armor/symbol combines makes it absolutely worth it.

I'd recommend doing intricate bracers to 275, gloves to 280 and then sacred symbols (helm to 284, boots to 290, sleeves to 295, chest/legs to 300) all the way to the end.

Cultural for sure after 252, unless you want to farm some wasp spiders till 262.

Just hunt the bazaar daily at a few different times, buy what you can afford - it's rather fast even on a budget.

I found the fine spinnerettes dirt cheap on my server. I could normally get them less then 50 pp sometimes even as low as 10pp. This was compared to the silks which were normally 100 pp range
