Chodiki hides in chardok, possibly tailoring?

So i has camping the monk pipe in chardok last night with my guild and it seems that not only the chodiki but just about everything was droping these hides. Has anyone else seen them or a use for them as of yet?

I believe the chokidai hides are just put there instead of the FS longswords the doggies used to drop (sort of loot placeholder for the jagged chokidai spine etc), since they don't stack, are as heavy as FS longswords and sell for the exact same amount to vendors.
