  • Natural Silk/Flawed Animal Pelts.

Anyone know a semi-decent location to farm these at?

Working on grinding out 300 tailoring finally, and this is the step I am at but can't find a good area to farm them in.

I find that Natural Silks are often offered on the bazaar relatively cheap, but this is on the Rathe. Sometimes a stack for 5-10 pp a piece.

As for a good location: try Dulak Harbor. I noticed that Natural/Flawed is what the average mob is dropping there and there are a LOT of mobs there with pretty fast respawn. Go lay waste to that pirate's den! Hardly any people there because it is a bit out of the way, exept maybe the odd player that is camping a boat (for some reason, I guess maybe one of the LoY spells). Nice PP also and lots of Names that drop crap that you can tribute. Also a realitively fun zone to grind in, better then killing bears in some forest. Do not try the Luggalds there, they do not drop Hides/Silks.

Edit: I *think* it was Dulaks, if not then go to the Torgirans Mines there, I was there yesterday and its either Dulak or TM. Off course TM mobs are a bit harder to kill quickly.

Thanks! I did a search on Magelo and went to Dulak's last night and wasn't getting many silks...sadly.

I searched the bazaar and luckly there were 100 for sale for 5pp each so I grabbed them. From running around like a chicken with its head cut off, I found Seb to be the best so far. Four more points from just moving on from Natural to Pristine.

      Thanks again for the Info!

Yes, guys, scrap my advice for Dulaks, it was in fact Torgirans Mines where the mobs drop the Natural/Flawed stuff. I also went to Crypt of Nadox and the mobs there also drop Natural/Flawed.

Off course the mobs in TM and crypt are harder to kill then the Dulak mobs but if you have a 70+ char you should be able to own the place pretty good and fast.

So no Dulaks, but Torgirans Mines and Crypt of Nadox. Lots of mobs there too and no other players.

i checked out Torgirans Mines tonight for 20-30 min before i logged tonight (right after i got my dark elf mask from the casino but thats a different story.) and in that time i cleared the tunnels where you zone in from Dulak once and came out with 15ish natural silks and 5ish flawed pelts. in addition to a bunch of other tradeskill stuff but those were the two i was looking for and therefor the only ones i was keeping track of.

ALso, it's out of the way, but the spiders in DN drop TONS of the stuff.

Lavaspinners Lair, lots of spiders and they drop about every other spider or so.

The spider camp in Plane of Nightmare is nice for Natural Silk. I also got some in Halls of Honor (but a majority of the silk in HoH was Fine Silk).

I must have had poor luck indeed..

I killed nearly twenty lavaspinners and came up with exactly two pieces of Pristine Silk. Lots of "Lavaspinners" silk, but that's not particularly useful.

Next stop will be the Steppes, I think.

From zone in, head south along the edge of the zone. It'll turn east toward the river. Kill any werewolves and slarghilug you find as you get to the river. Once it's cleared and you're across the river, you should be able to spot spiders. Take care when pulling, there are some spiders "hiding" in the trees and will pop if you get close.

I used to farm these a lot a couple years ago when nightmare silk were still selling for over 1kpp. easy 30-40kpp per hour solo.

Once you get to the Werewolves (which you can just go east to get around instead of killing) you will go off the cliff, and over the water / western edge of the water, and then back up a hill. You will now be forced (by zone wall) to turn East and the hill slopes down. I normally park whoever is with me on the hill.

Most of the critters (the spiders, the butterfly winged things and the bats) are all very social. It is easy to get adds, even at 79.

The Hatchlings are trap mobs and spawn 2-5 (and fall from the trees) and there are three traps. If you think about the pulling area, from the zone wall restricted area on the right (really a finger if you use geography terms) and the fall off to the water on the left as references, the first two are centered on your pulling area. If you use the center trees for reference, the first trap is near the 2nd tree and the second trap is near between the 3rd/4th trees.

The third drap is just south (up the hill) near the Eastern end of the finger (for reference, the last two spiders are at the end of the finger on level with the rest of the pulling area).

The traps are proximity sprung and appear to be on the same timer as the rest of the mobs.

The Hatchlings are low HPs, but their numbers make some hefty DPS on the unprepared.
