I am making elaborate armors. I have no problem with the leather combines, and made Elaborate Stargazer Sleeves. However when i try to do the combine for the Elaborate Stargazer Robe i get these cannot be combined in this type of container. I used exact same items except exchanging the Tunic pattern for sleeve pattern, used the Superb Silk Tunic template and used Superb spinerette fluid in place of the marrow. This exchange worked for the sleeves. Any idea on the tunic?
    Thanks in advance

The robes need a robe pattern, not a tunic pattern. Tunic patterns are for leather; robe patterns are for silk.

I have always used the tunic pattern when making the cultural armor robes. It has not been a problem until today when I tried making exquisite duskwoven robe.... I have no idea what to do here. I have the exquisite silk robe template, the mystical filament, water, cultural needle, ossified adamantite thread and pattern for dark elven tunics as well as exquisite spinneret fluid. It just won't combine, says you can't combine these in this container type, which is my cultural sewing kit. :/

Might be wrong but i don't think you use water for that.

Did you try making it in experiment mode, or through the tradeskill interface?

Also, just as a side name, the item name would be Elegant Duskwoven Robe.

I tried to do a combine for leather cultural and got the message: "This seems correct but something is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more to combine this." Anyone have a clue as to why it's telling me this? lol

You simply need to buy and scribe the elegant armor book. Go to the book vendors in PoK or other shopping zones and look for the new vendor. (In PoK he's standing next to the old ones.) He'll have the new books for elegant, sublime, and exalted stuff. Scribe them and you'll be able to make the armors.

                  Or perhaps ...

There is now a level restriction on making the armors that did not always exist. For instance, you must be level 65 to make Elaborate. I believe that is the cause of the message:

"This seems correct but something is wrong. Perhaps you need to know something more to combine this."

If you aren't high enough level you will not be able to find the recipe books on the PoK vendor.

How did you get the recipe?

One thing to note is that for a while it was possible to learn the recipe through experimenting. I would assume that this has now been corrected. What this would mean is that you may have learned the recipe but if you do not have the necessary skill then it could give that error. Elaborate armor has a skill requirement of 275 to be able to buy the book and to be able to make the armor. At last count there was no level restriction to making any armor. The level restriction was only for getting the quests for the augs. As long as you have the necessary skill you should be able to make the item.

If you learned by experimenting before the expansion went live you will need to have a skill of 275 to make the gear. Even if you already have the recipe.

No. there is no level restriction on making the ARMORS, but you cannot get the quests for the AUGS unless you are high enough level.

my 57 drakkin loves making armors, and cries that she can't make the new augs since she has the skill 300, the level 7 trophy, and the supplies both flawless spinneretts with their silks and exquisite silks and spinnerette.

The Elaborate Robes are all using the incorrect template. Use the OTHER template to make them. I have put in a fix, but it needs a full patch.

The elegant book is not showing up for me on any of the venders. Do you have to be 300 skill to see it? Friend of mine is 300 tailor and said he still couldn't see the right book.

You must be 300 raw skill (without modifiers) to see the elegant books. They're on a different vendor from the other armor books. The new vendor is called a "cultural discoveries historian" or something like that.
