  • Template Skill up paths race availbility

    Hi guys

Can dark elfs skill up on leather templates and by the same idea ogres and trolls skill up on silk templates.

Just curious if anyone has checked since the templates are non race specific.
Having only 2/3 types seems to be a unfair disadvantage to several races.

Aye, the beauty of the new system is that now all races have equal access to skill up opportunities for smithing & tailoring through the cultural templates, even if their race does not include classes that wear a certain armor type (silk, leather, chain, plate)

Well, nearly. The 2 higher tier wearable armours still have a skill-up bonus of 5% and 10%, right? So if your race DOES have classes that wear tailored gear, you've got extra opportunities for skill-ups by using (admittedly rarer) "finishing" components.

And I do not mind that small bit of inequity. I still feel that overal Dwarves are much better off than they were, even if they do not get the "bonus" combines.

Is there still a quest people have to do before making the Templets or just go and scribe the books and get materials?

Go scribe the template books and get materials.

edit: Well, I think that is the case. The only way it wouldn't be is if the NPC doesn't let you see the books without completing the quest. I don't think it does, but I wouldn't know, as I already had done the quest.

                No quest needed for templates.

The templates don't have any quests. The cultural armor and augs you still have to do the quests because that is the combine which uses the patterns that end up coming from those quests.

Good thing to note. I will add to my Beginners Guide to making Templates, the fact that any race/class/deity can make these templates and that no quest is required.
