skill up on silk combines

anyone already got a skillup on fine / excellent silk template combines?

combined well over 100 wrist templates but did not get a single skillup on those silks.

combined like 80 fine and excellent pelts wrist templates and got like 10 skillups.

strange thing it is, can someone verify a skillup on the silks?

Yes I can verify, I recieved 1 skillup on 7 template combines.

Can't verify a skillup as I was already 300 tailoring, but I can say my trophy has gained like 10% frm template making of various levels plus making GM armors and out of 15 GM combines plus their 15 templates, I've not failed any (knocks on desk for continued luck)...

I have gotten 7 skill up points since the new patch, all on template and GM combines. 285 - 292... I can taste 300!

I got my last 2 tailoring skillups from approximately a dozen of the new master level augment combines. Considering I did 80+ sunshard combines just prior and had only gotten 1 skillup out of that, I was very pleased with the skillup rate from the cultural stuff. If this change had come in sooner, I could have saved a lot of cash!

I have done over 200 combines on both Fine and Excellent silk and not 1 skillup, but have done only around 30 combines on Fine or Excellent pelt's and have gotten 7 skillup's, so this lead's me to beleive somthing is wrong with "silk" combines...........anyone else having trouble with SILK only??

i've gotten skill ups from fine silk, on average it's only about 1 per 40 combines, when when i do my cultural i get about 4 per 30 combines off of the silk templates. i can see pelts seeming quicker because you only need 1 pelt vs 2 silks.

But supposedly, from humanoid mobs, the silk drops at twice the rate of the animal hides.

Also, it depends on what mobs you are killing for the drops. If you are hunting spiders, you will see silks. If you are hunting mammoths and bears in Icefall, you will see hides.

same here went from 240 to 260 skill with fine and excellent stuff but got not a single skillup on the silks just from pelts. iam at 200 silk combines now also , and stopping til next patch.

maybe its just fine and excellent silk stuff. combined mostly wrist and some gloves but both do not get me a skillup.

I am also having troubles with silk combines. Working with Prsitine and Fines. I have gone up 6 numbers on 81 animal pelt combines, but have no skill ups at all with over 220 silk combines. I am also holding on silk combines at this time. We need to let Ngreth know about this problem.

Well, on my run from 100 to 136, I have gotten skill-ups on both silk and pelt combines. But I'm only using the low level stuff like Think / Crude silk and such.

Well...

I managed to find some bad data that may have lead to no skillup on the new silk!

It seems that the field that I use to give BONUS chance to skillup can actually take a negative number and make the skillup chance worse!

I did not even know of this, to even check for it until just now.

I have fixed the data, but unfortunately, it cannot go live without a full patch which is not scheduled until SoF, and would have some other rather bad effects if pushed early. So unfortunately silk for skillups is broken until SoF.

Thanks for being vigilant about this.

And, before people say "but this combine I always fail on...." I checked the entire database. The ONLY items with this data issue is the silk templates.

Hmmmm around 250ish silk combines and now I find this out
Least I know it will be fixed in about a month and thanks for looking into it for us Ngreth, could have been far worse had I not found this out and kept right at them combines.

so, skill ups are just harder now, less likely to do so. But you can still make the armor, and the template, and possibly get a skill up?
