Don Cultural Armor going to be made for lvl 80?

'm getting a little fed up with all the "rumours" abounding in eq and various eq forums.

latest is that DoN armor will now be made for lvl 80 and as such that the lvl limit is going to be increased to lvl 80 with the next expansion.

Does anyone have any info about this which is not based on rumours?

Rumor are just that, rumor. Ngreth have made names for future DoN cultural to cover up to level 100 but there is NO plan to raise level cap past 75.

I believe there is a plan to release updated DoN cultural recipe to accommodate players level 71 to 75 since DoN was originally required 70 for the highest player made gears.

No plan to raise level cap past 75 currently. We just had a raise last year and if SOE is consistent, we won't see level 80 for another 2 expansions. With the announcement SOE made recently about releasing expansion once a year starting this fall, the possible cap increase date would be fall of 2009

In a related news, Yael has reappeared in the Hole and there's a long line of players who wanted earthshaker. Do not buy one in bazaar even if it's only cheap at 100k as you could get it for free.

Really?? I had not read or heard that anywhere yet. But that's not surprising since SOEs forums have been down for me off and on for the past week. (Avoiding the nasty feedback from those of us being screwed by the Nurtha bug I bet! )

Ngreth apparently has names for armor up to level 100, but there were no plans to implement the level 80 set yet.

However, as per teh announcemnt on EQlive today, Secrets of Faydwer, the next expansion, WILL be increasing the level cap to 80.. Note that in the "features" listed for this expansion, New tradeskill recipes are NOT mentioned. (no additional bank space either..... )

As for the Yael/Earthshaker comment...there are no threads on EQLive about it that I saw, I thiunk Una is trying to be funny

Yes, I do plan on a level 80 set of cultural for the expansion. I am not waiting for the expansion for the fixes to the existing cultural. (I am waiting on a code change)

"plan to" = "has every intention of implementing this, but unforseen circumstances may alter those plans between now and November"

Yes I was trying to be funny as it is easy to start a rumor. I wouldn't be surprised if someone has already quoted me out of context in other forum or even in EQ.

As for the level 80, I was surprised that SOE is pushing for level cap increase already.

Doh Someone else had posted on Allakhazam that he was back up, but it's possible that they were trying to be funny also.

I am actually pretty stoked about new cultural armor, as I made all my own stuff and have several last bloods now. They are already pretty uber, seeing it get better will be awesome. Got my tailoring to 300+12%, but need to get my smithing higher next since I am a plate wearer.

And, from a bazaar standpoint, those of us who can make the newest cultural, we stand to make a lot of plat if we farm the goods ourselves!
