  • Farming them pelts. (MQ and LQ)

My level 44 cleric is looking for a place to farm LQ and MQ pelts. I prefer low levels, simply because I can gather them all up and then hit Word of Shadow. I've been looking for them in Everfrost, but for some reason, they haven't been dropping today. I think I may have gotten 3 or 4 total LQ and MQ pelts.

Does anyone know any other places for a 44 cleric without TBS, TSS, or PoR to get pelts? It's driving me nuts.

Nedaria maybe. The mobs are in the 30's range for most and Silverfur wolves maxes at level 20 so they'd be easy. I am not sure what other mob shares the spawn with the wolves but I think shore basilisk needs to be killed to spawn wolves. I've tried killing only oanther and bears and I didn't get any more wolves but when I killed basilisks, more wolves popped.

Silverfur wolves in Nedaria has about 50% chance of dropping LQ/MQ/HQ wolf skin (HQ can be cut down to MQ with skinning knife) and at level 44, you'd get some xp as well albeit slowly.

I considered Nedaria. The problem with that is that each mob would cost me 2 or 3 casts of Retribution. I don't have a mount or any mana regen gear, and I don't have anything near a large mana pool. It adds up eventually, trust me on this. That's why I went to Everfrost. I can grab about a dozen wolves and bears, AoE, and only be down about 4% mana. They drop LQ enough that I'd get quite a few before running out of mana. The problem is grabbing enough of them. Since it takes about a dozen to get just one LQ pelt (if I'm lucky, that is), it takes more time than I'm willing to spend.

I'll think about Nedaria. For now, I want to save my HQ's for getting my tailoring skill up.

The karanas are full of cats and wolves and the such. As well as some spiders for silk.

Remember that HQ and MQ can be converted to LQ with a skinning knife so you don't have to just go for LQ.

If you kill 1-3 wolves in Ner. but get 1-2 pelts vs killing 10 wolves in Everfrost for "maybe" 1 LQ would you not still be better off in Neraria even having to sit and med more often and even getting less kills a hour?

Try 1-2 hours in Neraria see if you get more pelts then in Everfrost.

Try the cats in Stonebrunt which is between Gunthak and the Warrens. The ones in the "jungle/forested" portion of the zone at the lower elevation shouldn't be too hard and like all the cats in that zone they drop a whole lot of LQ, MQ and HQ pelts. You could even try the tougher cats up in the mountain area further to the north, but they would take more mana to kill.

The cats vary in level and numbers of hit points. You'll figure out which ones are tough and which are easy fairly quickly.

Which is why I'm doing both MQ and LQ. Like I said, I want to save the HQ for tailoring.

I'd like to thank you all for your advice. I've been to Nedaria's and the Karanas before. I'll try Stonebrunt and see which of the three is best suited for me.

              Once again, thank you.

I used to farm EK with my cleric for just such items, granted my cleric was higher level but you should easily be able to do it. Start at the bottom of the path that leads to HHP and go west and do an s pattern to cover all the area west and hitting each mob once, then head back to the hill where Tarbul spawns and collect all the mobs there. Then AoE them. In one round up I would end up with anywhere from 7-15 pelts and up to a stack of spider silk. Easy and effective.

The trick to EK is to kill everything. If you are looking for cats and only kill cats.. soon all you will see are spiders, snakes... All the mobs are on the same spawn table, so if you want a specific thing; kill it all to keep the zone spawning.

I've decided to try HSM for rockhopper pelts. Why HSM? Because this is for leather padding. Next step up is Shadowscream.
