tailoring insanity

ok so i got over 4 stacks of shissar scales thinking i will at least get 5 or more skill ups WRONG i got one ... ONE! for2+ hours of farming

.... ok now before you say suck it up consider this i started tailoring with the hopes of makeing a profit WtB new beter than Lastblood augs and or better than grandmaster armors......

By the way this is going i will never ever max tailoring the only reason i am continueing tailoring now is cause i want a nice charm but skilling up just makes me wanna


Solution quest make exotic armor of (whatever) for your hometown to combat the menace of (insert invaders here) or invade (insert town name) ,and you get guaranteed skill points in tailoring or smithing(whichever quest yur doing) make them raid drops or something or a long quest anything that nets me like 5(at least) skill points a shot cause nothing sucks more than laoring for hours to get 1 skill point ya real fun

Tailoring atm makes me wanna eat someones brains cause i lost my sanity tailoring

Agree - shissar scales is one of the easiest paths compared to other races and includes a bonus chance to skillup. I know it doesn't make you feel better, but trust me (and thousands of others) it IS MUCH WORSE out there!!!

So suck up the bad run, and then jump for joy when you get 5 or more skillups in a stack while others are happy to get one.

go farm some otters, holgresh, mastodon and ice burrowers.
or put up a buyer when youre sleeping and let others do the farming.

tailoring was my first tradeskill to get to 300 and yes, it took time! lots n lots of time..
there was several runs of 100+ combines that gave me nada skillups. 3 days of otter farming for 1 skillup,and guess what ? ; i was happy !!

tailoring was never supposed to be one of the "easy" tradeskills,so find the big smile when you get a skillup

2 people in Baz *trying* for the past month to sell Storm Volaas hair at 5k each... (as of this morning all 12 were still for sale too.)

I was really sick this past weekend... My sweet lovable hubby took his Pally up to POS and farmed a STACK of Volaas hairs for me. All because he remembered I was complaining about the fact that it was insane for someone to charge 5k... My lil Drakkin gonna have her GM armor before she's big enough to wear it.

Yep... teach me to write something when I'm half asleep. but still .. she now has 6 parts of her Master's crystalweave armor made.

A bit hard for me, as an ogre warrior to solo for shimmering ukun hides, so I hunt othmir. Four furs per cloak, averaging about 40 cloaks per skill up. That's 160 furs per skill up. I average 5 furs per complete clearing of the beach. That means I need to clear the beach 32 times to get 160 furs, or about 10 hours of farming PER SKILL UP.

Not really complaining, I knew tailoring would be difficult, but not really sympathizing with the shissar scales, either.

This is why I bit the bullet and bought some of my Othmir Furs in the bazaar (I think I bought like half of them). For some reason, I never had any luck skilling up with master level cultural.

Mine all came from the bazaar.. the time involved for farming just wasn't worth it to me. Also, don't forget the tailoring seals from DODH, if you can pick the hides/silks up for a reasonable price (considering the need for the mana vial), I found those to be very helpful once I got into the 290s.
