  • Can something be done about obsolete Cultural sewing kits?

Bought a Vale sewing kit for 1500PP in the bazaar because my smithing is nil
figures I bought a obsolete version.

Is there no way obsolete ones can be recognised from the "real" ones?

(edit because I realised it was uhmm incorrect)

    It's not easy but...
Right click on the item to bring up the item display
Type ";t " then click on the icon in the item display window and press return
Your client will spew out an error with a long hexidecimal number
The first six digits of that long hex number is the item ID for that item (in hex).
You'll then need to convert that hex number to a decimal number (can use your windows calculator if you've selected Scientific setting under the View menu).
Can then look up the item on lucy and see if it's the correct one (following the link to allakhazam if necessary).

In your case, the Vale Sewing Kit that you need would be 16AD2 (92882 decimal).

I definitely cannot get away with "deleting" the old.

I did at one point intend on re-naming them in some way, but got distracted.

I think a lot of people would apreciate this, I bought mine no idea there were 2 versions and got a DNC with combine, mightily confused as to why as all my ingredients were fine.

I am curious, in addition to renaming them, how hard would it be to also remove the 'Combine' button from them? (so that they're just like a regular vanilla container)

problm with that is if someone uses it for normal combines they would lose their box

it **May** be harmless to remove the combine button (change the bag type) but I am not 100% sure of this (about 97% sure it would be safe, but not 100%). It is much safer to just rename it.

Name suggestion : Useless Sewing Kit
Item Lore : Used to work, but all of the needles and thread are missing.

Also, the bazaar tokens for containers don't make any mention of whether the item is one that can combine things, so removing it wouldn't help with confusion over which token to buy, it would just let you know as soon as you handed it in that you had purchased the right/wrong one.

Another possible name: Antiquated xxx Sewing Kit
Lore: Seweing kit of the ancient xxx whose sewing technics have long since been forgotten.

Can someone explain to me why the old ones need to continue existing? Why not just morph all the old ones in existence into new ones?

                          Well.

                          If I delete them...

anyone that has them holding something looses all items withing them

And like I said. I am not 100% sure it is safe to change it to a non-combine container.

I would not delete them Ngreth just rename them to Archaic or anchient or some other heck even Old XXX Sewing kit would work and that way people could still use them as sewing kits not just cultural anymore. Just a thought.

Little disclaimer: the numbers I gave (16AD2 and 92882) are for the new sewing kits and not for the token. According to lucy, the number for the token would be 56884 (00DE34).
