Is Drakkin Expert DoN armor quest broken?

I am trying to finish the Expert level quest for Drakkin "DoN" armor. Killed the 50 spiders in DL, then was assigned to kill 5 Tundra Yeti and loot just 1 Essence of Winter. OK, so far I have kill more than 50 Tundra Yeti, and not one single drop of Essence of Winter!! This simply cannot be working. I cannot imagine devs would base such a low level armor on an ultra-rare drop. On the other Cultural armor quests I have done, the drops usually were completed before the kills were. Does not seem right that the quest would require 5 kills of a mob with a 1% drop rate of the needed item.

I can see from other posts that some folks must have completed the Expert level quest a few weeks ago. Just wonder if anyone has gotten the Essence of Winter drop in DL recently?

Just out of frustation, I ran to EF and killed a few Ice Giants to be sure Essence of Winter is still dropping. I got one, but looting it in the wrong zone or from the wrong mob did not complete the quest

Anyone have any advice?

I got 2 drops off the yetis in the caves last week. Dont know if anything has changed since then but they dont seem to be too uncommon for me.

Aye yeti are still dropping the Essence of Winter needed for the expert task. We just finished it 11-7-06 on my wife's cleric. We ended up killing about 50-ish Yeti before the essence dropped. Just be persistant you will get it.

And I tested it when I made it (part of the requirements of making quests...) and it dropped.
