  • HQ MQ LQ cat pelts

I recently found that 1-3 of these pelts drop off EVERY tiger on the north side of Stonebrunt. I didnt realize that before and only found out because I needed a Tiger skin. I killed about 15 cats before I had a couple tiger skins and by then I had about 30 of the different pelts.

Respawn is fast and they often just path by and aggro if you are fighting out in the middle of the north area. I often tagged a couple only to have two or three more tigers add and give me even more pelts.

It's no secret that one of the best places to farm LQ, MQ and HQ cat pelts is Stonebrunt. Another zone that is absolutely outstanding for pelt drops (in this case LQ, MQ and HQ wolf, cat, and bear pelts) is Nedaria's Landing. The place is crawling with animals and you can accumulate stacks of their pelts very, very quickly.

Another nice thing is that generally speaking you rarely have to compete for spawns in either zone.

Personally, I found I got HQ cat pelts much more easily in East Karana than in Stonebrunt - I tagged EVERY wolf, lion, snake and spider from the north zone wall to the big hill in the middle, and PBAEd 30+ mobs at a time. (/hidecorpse looted is just so handy...). By the time I'd finished going through the corpses, they'd all respawned.

I tried the same trick just rounding up tigers and leopards in stonebrunt, and quite apart from the difficulty of spotting all the mobs, they hit a fair bit harder and it just wasn't viable to stand around being beaten by them to get them in 1 place for the PBAoE.

          To each his own...

As a mage I just set up a hotkey with 5 different /pet attacks and mash it as I run along, following pet from corpse to corpse. Much more effective in densely populated areas, but handy just about anywhere.
