    Coarse Silk drops

    Please post the mission name of any DoN mission which you personally know that coarse spider silk as dropped. If you only 'heard' that it dropped in such and such mission, preface your comments with (rumor) then tell mission/details.

    (note: i will edit this post when more info is found.)

    Confirmed missions: (only putting as confirmed when poster says they personally get a silk drop in a particular mission)

    (rumor)Death comes swiftly mission - have not seen it myself but others say this mission drops silks.


    I have tried various lavaspinner missions and have yet to see a silk drop at all, dont remember names off hand. gave up trying a few months ago.

    Ngreth hinted that the spiders have to be level 65+ in order to drop the coarse spider silk, that's why you're not seeing any in the Lavaspinner missions. As well as Death Comes Swiftly, I remember reading about a Nest mission that has a lot of spiders in it, I bet they drop coarse silk too.

      I've personally looted coarse silks from both "Web of Lies" and "Death Comes Swiftly."

        I have personally looted a silk in, "Death Comes Swiftly" within the last week.
        Sunburnt Dmize - 80 Druid - D-Ro
        300 - Tailor +15%, Smith +12%, Fletcher +12%, Brewer +12%, JC +12%, Potter +12%, Baker +12%

        Phrump Eatsogres - 32 Gnome - D-Ro
        300 - Tinker +15%
        300 - Researcher +12%
        300 - Tailor +12%

          Sorry, the mission has to be 65+ not necessarilly the mobs inside.

            I farmed 6 silks in Death Comes Swiftly. The spiders respawn, so I just stayed in the instance farming until I had what I wanted.

              I have done about 50 lavaspinners missions (all spider ones roughly 1500 kills) and never seen a course silk drop. All group members are level 70 so it is a 65+ group.

                  confirmed drops

                  Got one drop myself doing "Clues" from the spiders in the ice-area.

                  Also confirmed in another thread - got 4 silks from doing "Spiders Eye" - did another "spiders eye" mission some weeks later (did not clear everything then), got no drops ). Got also no mission drops - this mission is insanely time consuming, or the drops have to get fixed.

                    Confirmed mission Origins of the Curse.

                    On the final round of completing my mages tier 5 DoN progression (had raid drops before Ally faction) we got the following on this single mission.

                    5 Metallic Drake Scales
                    3 Glossy Drake Hides
                    7 Coarse Spider Silks.

                    Overall was a great mission and from the drops we got on it, I plan on doing this mission with anyone who asks for help on it. I have never seen so many cultural drops drop from 1 mission bar none. At best prior to this I seen 2 MDS's from on one mission, or 1 each of MDS or GDH. Not only did it surpass the number of drops, but offers all 3.

                    -300 Smithing
                    -200 Baking
                    -200 Pottery
                    -200 Fletching
                    -200 Jewelcrafting

                      Oh, and the XP was supurb too. Mission is best if you have a chanter with their clicky mez stick from Tacvi. Their spell works just as good to. But things will go slower otherwise.

                        Death Comes Swiftly (Average 68+ only; 0-1 per mission)
                        Clues (0-2 per mission; no respawn)
                        Scrap Metal (Done once; dropped 2 in 2.5 hours, then we quit the mission.)

                        Ngreth, please be more specific. Do you mean the mission's level average must be 68+, or can it also drop in average 63 to <68 missions? 65+ implies that it can drop in a mission "intended" for average level 65, which means any group average between 63 and 68 (=63 included), and I do not believe that's the case.

                          I don't know I was just told "65+"
                          It is part of the reason why this will take so long compared to the shissar blood drops someone complained about me "fixing" while not fixing this.
                          Shissar blood, I knew where and what dropped already.
                          This stuff... all i know is "DoN" and 750 some od mobs... no more that that, and no good explanation of why with 750 mobs that drop this it is so freaking rare. Much research is needed by me.
