  • Tailoring > 262 not needed?

I don't read the boards too often but I recently saw a message that mentioned that having tailoring > 262 does not actually help your success rate for any existing recipes (at least not if you have certain AAXP).

If this is true can someone can confirm this and explain? Or refer me to a link where it is explained? I'm currently at 260 so it would be good to know

    Thanks a bunch!

Check out this thread for min skill for max success calculations... http://mboards.eqtraders.com/eq/showthread.php?t=26593

The story goes like this. SOE has the ability to set a maximum expected success rate for any item. The maximum expected success rate for most items is 95%, but high level items often have a different (unpublished) value. Through extensive testing by the community, we have discovered the maximum success rates on a number of items, like the GM armor. GM legs and tunics and related symbols appears to be 60% maximum expected success rate. Therefore, if your adjusted success rate is 60% or more, then you can make these items as well as anyone else.

The thread listed above is where someone generated tables that show what the minimum skill you would have to have to be able to make a given GM item if you have a specific mod %.

I'll let you draw your own conclusions.
