Skill ups from 297 to 300... what am I missing?!?

I'm trying to figure out what I can make to get from 297 tailoring to 300 tailoring.

Spent about a half mil over the last week or two buying up all the stuff in the bazaar used for tailoring and got my skill from 290 to 297. But now the bazaar seems out of materials.

Velium Mastodon Fur Cloak -- bazaar's sold out of hides
Holgresh Fur Cloak -- bazaar's sold out of hides
Ice Burrower Silk Amice -- bazaar's sold out of silk
Master's Bloodpact Cuirass -- bazaar's sold out of shimmering ukun hides
Grandmaster's Bloodpact Sleeves -- glossy drake hides too expensive at 30k+ each to get from 290 to 297 on only half a mil in plat -- unless I get lucky -- and I munched 5 glossy drake hides today on failed combines, so I didn't get lucky.

What am I missing that I could buy in the bazaar and use for tailoring?

Can try skilling up on trophies for the last bit - less expensive than glossy drake hides.

Artisan's seal + embroidering needle. Cost would be approx 1500 or so for subcombines. Trivial is > 301.

Other than that, I'd say you'll have to farm.

Or if you have a lot of plat and don't want to farm yourself (which is what sounds like here) put up a buyer and starting auctioning WTB in bazaar and pok X items for Y plat. You'll get people to farm for you - although this will upset people like me who farm their own materials as can't get a camp!

Also - check out your old world cultural and see if an option with BD's and some sort of hide although I think ogres only have smithing option?

Just a slight correction on this: the Artisan's Seal requires 8 Velium Bars (each costing 262.499p) for a total of about 2100p. That's not counting the BD, Diamond, Jacinth, and Black Sapphire you need (and the other really cheap stuff.) So, even if you farm everything you can farm, it's still over 2k per combine.

Well I ding'd 300 fletching this morning and 300 smithing about 30 minutes ago, so now it's only the last three points of tailoring between me and master artisan.

A couple of weeks ago, a new calculator appeared without much fanfare on the main EQTC site, called the Advanced Calculator. Among other things, it lets you calculate the cost to skill up using different paths. Check it out; click on Calculators, then Advanced to get to it.

Maybe Master's augs? I've been making those a fair ammount to get ~275-281 so far. You get the modified skillup chance with them too. Could only do BP/Legs, but they're 302 (or is it 306?) - 2 Nightmare Silks, Crushed Diamond dusts - guess it just depends how much people are asking on your server.

As much as people want for the Velious tailoring things, they come out to about the same price, and I can actually resell them for a profit (tho I'm running low on storage space, heh)

Well I have about 400 Nightmare Arachnid silks, and 10 crushed diamond dust.... so indeed I was missing this one. Pretty sure there are more crushed diamond dust for sale too, and that I could sell some bp/legs symbols possibly.

Let me check the recipe on this and see if this is right for ogre symbol making, or if not, what we use for tailored symbols. I'm not too familiar with making symbols yet. Good call on checking this out, I'd forgotten about it.

Wow now I'm quite glad that I didn't sell the extra 400 nightmare arachnid silks after I finished fletching... and that crushed diamond dust is dropping in PoR zones.

Guess I was confusing the tailoring armor itself with the symbol making... looks like all races have the same recipies for symbols... right?

I can pretty much garuntee that you are going to have to farm though.
