  • What Color Ribbons are Easiest to Make?

I see that Ribbons of various colors are needed to get from skill 159 to 188......do all require Foraging? If so....isn't that unfair to non-Foraging classes?
Which color Ribbons are the easiest and best way to skill-up?

From personal experience I found that Steamfont Springwater was easy to get from the Kobolds in Steamfont mountains. Honey Berries seemed to drop in quantity in Dreadlands too from the giants.

I believe all of the ribbon dye items are dropped as well as foraged. Lichenclovers drop from drolvargs in Firiona Vie and the Dreadlands, if I remember right, and bamboo shoots drop from mobs in Stonebrunt. Plains roots drop from beetles in the Karanas, and plant shoots come from Jaggedpine mobs.

I foraged the plant shoots and bamboo shoots, when I was done I used the left overs for baking It's especially easy to reach over and hit forage on a 2nd account while you are raiding or grouping your main.

Pick the ribbons you can use to make robes for your race. Robes and symbols are your best path to 222 and higher.

That is awfully strange advice coming from an erudite, considering how hard the eru ribbons are to get parts for. I gave up on the roe pretty fast after seeing that drop rate, let me tell you, and it sure wasn't available in the bazaar. The shoots were barely any better.

I say, if you can easily get the ribbon parts for your race then use them... if not, do what you can of your race's if you have the option of robes later, and fill in with whatever you can get your hands on - which will most likely be the Steamfont Spring water mentioned above.

              All drop?

I believe all of the ribbon dye items are dropped as well as foraged.... plant shoots come from Jaggedpine mobs.
No source for plant shoot drops so far in the database, soo if you can confirm a drop for them it would be nice (database submissions).

As for the honey berry dropping in quantity anywhere from anything, Pls tell me where! I would categorize it as one of the rare ones to get, both from forage (even with a ranger max forage and natures bounty III) and from mass aoe slaughtering with 5 pullers clearing nearly the entire DL zone every 15 mins (up to 1/2 of ice potion of zone as well)
This is almost as rare to come by as sylvan berries... but not quite.

I remember getting honey berries from Drolvargs, but I don't recall if they were in Dreadlands or FV.

                  Easy to get.

Also, the easiest to get imo (and as noted from my bank mule that saves these for guildies doing skillup work) would be lichenclover... foraged in FoB + FV + FM and dropped pretty constantly from drolvargs in FV and occassionalyly from FM mobs.
Second best would be ashweed, foraged pretty constantly (even with a gimpy iksar cultural forage) LS and dropped by much lower lvl mobs in lava as well (gobbies and imps).
Keep in mind if bazaar the ribbons instead of selling them to vendors, A) you will make plat back (or if you're crazy break even) and B)you will feed a hungry tradeskill comunity

                    honey in DL.

Honey berry does indeed drop from drolvargs in DL, not very common but it happens, drolvargs in FV drop lichenclover and their fangs
Also note the drolvargs in FV are lower lvl then the ones in DL (much faster killing speed), and all nicely bunched together in one portion of the zone, unlike DL which has a large mix of wandering mobs, and a few set camps of drachnid, giants, yetti... but no set camp of drolvargs.

If you're referring to Drolvarg Island in FV, they're no longer there. The elven residents of the zone displaced them when the Dark Reign took over the outpost.

Then again, there may be other camps in FV I'm not aware of.

                        Drolvargs.

The static camps outside of the caves were unchanged with the displacement of the drolvarg cave by the TierDahl. There are about 6 tents and small huts with a good 20 static spawns all bunched just a bit outside the cave entrane, as well as a solid stream of drolvargs pathing in that same area, and the Much lower lvl gives you a pretty constant kill ration, nearly faster then you can loot, and 20-60 percent of them drop the nice green clovers of happyness... Forage rate is also much much higher....

Vs Drolvargs and other random mobs in DL (the dreaded c*ckatrice O nozor!) that I would say have about a 1-2 percent chance to drop honey berry in my experience, and have not seen a spider drop one yet. And a very limited forage table for berries, I get bout a stack of nodding blue lilies per 4 berries, to 3 to 5 stacks of worthless junk. (lets not even talk about maneater)

Have not kept track kill wise of much of the other mobs in FV as to anything else that drops lichen, since I never ran out of drolvargs to kill, nor whacked more then 5 in a row without getting one /shrug

Rating and my personal feal for how hard is it to attain, with either a 61 ranger with max forage, natures bounty, and track to kill OR a 70 shammy with gimp iksar forage.

Honey Berries seem to have a more reasonable drop rate in Frontier Moutains than the places listed so far. The giants seem to drop them at a reasonably rate.

I say "seem" because I never went after them for the drops but rather got the occasional aggro from them traveling to Nurga. With FM being a hot zone right now I would think that some should make it to bazaar as well and that a barter offer would yield quite a few.

Just an update, during the day when few people are on, I've taken my SK over to OT and worked on opening the various shrouds (I shroud him down to 45)...seems to be a much better drop rate on the cursed clovers.

After maybe 2 months of playing around over there on and off, I've got about 7 stacks of cursed dye and maybe 3.5 more stacks of clovers to brew up. This might be one of the easier routes to take.

Never had a lot of luck foraging them, though, think perhaps just so much on the forage table makes the chance slim. I got all of them off the thorny and spiked succulents.
