Master trophy test - nightmarewood sap

One more combine to go to get my shiny new master tropy... have been farming treants in nightmare now fairly solidly for 2 days .. so far after about 700 kills of my own .. 2 saps... a friend has also been farming them in my sleep time .. over 200 kills .. no saps at all .. am i having insanely bad luck.. or is this an incredibly rare drop .. and iIF ngreth spots this .. is the drop rate as intended? (luclin server) if it makes any difference....


Edit .. just bought one off someone else xping in the zone .. but failed the robe combine despite using old trophy, salvage 3, and tailoring mastery 3 aa's.. runs off to scream room!

Sounds to me like you are having bad luck, I got 3 in an hour soloing as a warrior. Or maybe I got lucky...

i been killing treants for 3 days..nada. friend helped for 2 days ; nade.
found a player in bazaar that had 18 of em (at insane overprice) bought 3,trophy done. evolves relative fast,but then again tailoring is not exactly one of the easy tradeskills,so only fair.

These ARE rare. I killed about 50 treants and got nothing.

I'd say it works as intended then.

It shouldn't be very easy to get a 12% modifier. 12% is a lot, especially considering the real likelyhood of potential increases in max skilllevel.


At that time the trophees will have leveled to maybe 15% already. Thats a huge absolute modifier on the skilllevel.

Considering that the previous modifier drops from an insanely difficult to reach/farm mob requiring at least 1,5 groups, more likely more- dependant on gear and level- (unless you use tricks not ever intended to be used on that mob like charming a boss with insane hitpoints and so negating the deathtouch on shei) and then was no guaranteed drop either (i think it is either uncommon or rare drop of shei)- the new trophee is still very much easier.

If nightmarewood sap is your only bottleneck then the trophee is by no means too hard, maybe even the opposite

Spend 5 hours farming pon here with monk/druid combo, got a total of 1 sap, and 0 silks (not sure if the spiders at waterfall are can drop the silks, a friend had some that he gave me).
Its ridiculously rare, and the guy in bazaar wanting 10K for each im NOT gonna buy from

I got lucky and found some vendor diving and a guildie who ramps PoN for stuff gave me some as well. Other items in bazaar I picked up cheap. Only stuff I had to farm from PoN was baking supplies, heh. Blood raven parts was the worst and not so bad in comparison.

AFAIK, the silks come from blue con spiders across the river. Light blue stuff on the zone-in side won't drop what you need.

as far as the nightmare silks you have to kill the spiders on the far side of the river where the matriarch spawns for the silk.

Robe of Haunted Dreams replaced Tae Ew Silk Robe as requirement for Master Trophy in beta. So, it could be a LOT worse

Yes could be a lot worse like: master tailoring requires *four* Tae Ew hide sack and turn in all 4. >=)

Every guild could band together and throughly wipe CT clean for a whole day and still not pull together enough hides to make one sack let alone satisfy every tailor quest takers.

It took me 4.5 hours of wandering around killing every treant that was up. Ironically all 3 saps dropped from the 3 static pops & none from the dozen or so wandering ones.

Any more tips on the sap?
Spent 3 hours there killing every tree we could find, along with all the ravens, and spiders around them.

Zero drops of sap 8 bow parts no silks, 6 raven parts.

The trees are in one section only right?

Silk just on the spiders near the matriarch.

I still see Nightmarewood Sap in the bazaar, from various people, for 200pp. Is that unusual? Has it gotten rarer lately?

finally got 3. took me ; from lvl 68 to 69 solo to get those.
them omw out after 69,killed 1 more and another dropped.
sold it in bzr for 2500pp.
