From skill 188 to 300 (I am Human)

I Just finished using Shissar Scales to make swatches and get me to 188, now I was looking at making the different robes from here till as high as I can go. How hard are the non vendor ingredients to find? Some of them I have never heard of.

Is this the next best progression for me, or should I find another way.

LOL replying to myself....you can still post if you want but i think i have made my decision to go with Othimur fur and try that route. Hopefully it will work out well for me.

I wouldnt use othmir furs until you reach 252 as they are harder to kill than the wyverns and drakes and the cost per combine is higher too if you farm the velium and fish the cod yourself.
In your situation I would probably do rockhopper then arctic wyvern then a mix of othmir and DoN masters depending on how easily you can farm shissar scales. If you can do robes, that may be an option and dont forget to do ethereal swatches once you reach 220 with geerlok/trophy.

No he's just saying don't burn your othmir fur till you have no choice. Arctic wyvern is just as easy if not easier so make hay while the sun shines as it were.

Most efficient use of the materials.

Depending on your level/class, you might gather othmir furs faster than shissar scales. Myself, as a 70 mag, can slaughter whole camps at once...well, my pet does, I throw in some assistance here and there...

Velium is easy to farm too if you can train yourself and take out scads of Great Divide tizmaks at once. They're so fun to wipe out with damage shield and Burning Aura =D

Depends on how much you're willing to waste in the bazaar buying either lambent stones or the pre made water.

IMO, after the Shissar Scales to 182, just do combines as you come across components and farm corathus entrails to 252.

In answer to your original question, what race are you? Some of the culteral robe combines are very doable. As a gnome, I found Rune of the Astral easily available from vendor / bazaar farming, and the steamfont water also easily available in quantity from farming/foraging. Those robes took me to 232.

I agree, save your Othmir for the later runs. Getting over 252 is when tailoring really starts to get difficult, as most of the velious recipes are no longer available.

Human here

I am a Human, so I checked out the Human cultural tailoring here on EQ Traders. I found Expert's Sagacious Sleeves would take me to 212. They require one swatch to per combine. They are a little pricey, close to 75pp each (this price is my best guess, has been a while ) for the final combine on store bought items. High quality cat pelts make this very doable. I farmed in EK and Stonebrunt, found a froggie friend to trade in my low and medium quality pelts for high quality. If you want, you can use the pants and the chest to get you to 222, but they require 3 swatches per combine.
Loy robes are very good also. Do your vendor farming now for your Essence of Rathe for Robe of Scent triv (222)and Rune of Concussion for Robe of Concussion (triv 232)for additional combines. My trip from 188 to 222 was not very painful using cultural and robes. Good luck after this, the robe components are harder to find it seems. But do save all your velious items for later, you will be glad you did..

One other combine to keep in mind is Epicthiek's belts, using Corathus entrails, which can take you to 252. These entrails are not hard to farm in CC, and is another plausible route to 252. I think solstice robes are a fairly good way to get to 252 (somewhat expensive), and should be considered. After 252 tailoring gets much more difficult, and tried to find and do any possible combine I could. Good luck!

If you are going to go arctic wyvern route, do wristbands instead of masks. Even though they take 2 studs, they tribute for 802 each. I buy hides for 100p, do my own fishing, bought velium for 10 per small pieces. Price to make about 185p, sold them in bazaar as tribute for 150. I got back most of my investment, and buyers got a 5:1 ratio on tribute. Win-win situation.

Just hit 252 on my dark elf today... time to move in to PoN and farm spiders.
