Human wanna be tailor

I recently came back to EQ, and have decided to start tailoring...just curious what the best path is to get from 0 (ZERO) skill to a place where i can attempt to make th grandmaster armor. Is there a chart that exists somewhere or a guide? Sorry if this is on the site somewhere , but i was unable to find it even using the search. (may have been user error, i suck at the search function on message boards for some reason)

Looking for a Human Tailor who can attempt to make GM armors on Fennin Ro Server. I will pay well.

In short, you are seriously in trouble. There is no easy way past about 100'ish. Some people do rockhopper... some people do LoY ribbons. At the highehr end people do soltice robes and LoY Cultural robes. Past 220 or so I got sick of soltice robes and just combined PoP elemental armor for ****z and giggles. Im 240 now... Not a fan of how difficult it has become to get past that. Im between 251 and 300 in all trades (except tailoring and pottery 240, 250 respectively)... tailoring does really blow.

Since you are human, you have the option to make some LOY robes. I'm not sure how common the materials are that can be used to make the pages, but it is a path you can investigate.

Also, since humans are leather wearers, you can follow the shissar scales route at the upper end of the game. You can farm them in Ssra Temple and make master's leather armor. It's the best top end route available.

BTW, I am at 261 skill and never skilled up on solstice robes.

Start out on the ship doing the free tailoring to 50ish.Then do mandrake roots till 66 and picnic baskets till 76.Then DoN cultural :-)

Velious leathers (arctic wyvern and cobalt drake) can take you from low 200's or so to 252 as well. At 252 (without mastery), you have about a 50% chance to make GM bracers. With a geerlok and mastery 3, it's about 82%. You will also have about a 70% chance of success with trivial 368 stuff. The BP and legs, though, trivial at 386, and it's a lot harder to succeed on those -- about a 60% chance of success. Past 252, it's a lot harder to skill up.

It's going to be a real pain getting from 280 to 300, even with the options available - velium hound, othmir, mastodon, ice burrower, and holgresh stuff, as well as shissar scales for master armors. Drops aren't too rare, but skillups are. If anything, that's what bothers me the most - the sheer number of attempts some points end up requiring to attain.

I went a different route guys, decided to find a higher lvl tailor and see what they could do. I found someone with a 260 something skill and he has salvage 3 and mastery 3 (maybe....what ever the tradeskill one is). I think i am going to have him attempt it. He was the next highest human tailor i could find on the server, but i don't beleive the other plays anymore.
