  • 250 Erudite Tailor Here

Guess I'm being lazy, but I just reentered the game and would like to know the best possible path to 300.

    Thanks,

Path to 300 Tailoring for Erudites

There is no 'easy' path to 300, but you'll have a lot less competition for resources if you make Robe of the Tempest to 262 (they sell very well in Prexus Bazaar at 4k pp each, or tribute them for about 7k tribute points each) and then farm or buy terrorantula silk to make old Erudite steelweave wristbands the rest of the way to 300. It amounts to about 14k pp per stack of attempts, because of the new price of HQ ore, platinum thread, and blue diamonds, and purchasing terrorantula silk at 50 pp each or less. I've done a lot of farming, but it's been worth it. With my current skill, I've already made 3 Robes of Strife (2 customers and one for myself, trivial 282 OoW-era robe) and earned 1k pp from the 2 customers' combines doing it.

Feel free to add any of the other combines from other expansions as time and resources allow, like holgresh, othmir, and elemental tailoring. (Nightmare, Fire, etc)

I am the highest-skilled Erudite enchanter tailor on Prexus with 272 Tailoring, according to EQ Rankings. *knock wood* I've had pretty good luck with skillups from high 250's 'til today's 272 combine. Above 250, expect no more than one skillup per 40 final combine attempts or so. If my experience getting Baking to 300 is any hint of the other tradeskills, (and others have hinted that I'm right), then expect to make 80 primary combines for your skillups above the mid-280's and 120 or more per skillup in the 290's.

BD cultural (steelweave) is a very good option after Robes of Tempest!

Are you guys selling or tributing the resulting wristbands? They take up inventory slots rather quickly.

          Thanks,

          Miz

I tribute the boots I make (boots take the same ingredients as wristbands and tribute for a tiny bit more).
Yes, I have maxxed my own tribute on two chars and bf's tribute on three chars, and have dumped a lot into guild tribute too.

              Any New Developments

Any New Developments in this area for Erudite Tailors? I have made Robes of Tempest trivial and am about to embark on some combines.

              Thanks in Advance,

Working on tailoring I've done a little of whatever I can get my hands on at a good rate for supplies, but mainly I've done old and new erudite cultural. Old cultural tributes nicely, and is cheaper on the parts, but doesn't sell. It helps if you have a cleric who can do the imbues for you as well. New cultural involves more expense (if you buy stuff in the bazaar) with Nightmare Arachnid silks, and it doesn't tribute or sell back to vendors, but you can sell it in the bazaar for a profit - very very very slowly however, but it also has a better rate of skill ups.
