  • Prepared Sporali Skin

I see on the DoDH tailoring page that there's a recipe called Prepared Sporali Skin. I did some soloing in Corathus and found that the Bile and Skin drops from the light blue/green mobs. With a trivial of 276, could this be another skill up path?

Sure. Not anymore painful than Othmir Fur. At least they are light blue and give some xp.

I have only seen 2 Sporali skins in all my vendor diving and nightly bazaar searches. The combine does indeed work as I succeeded on one of the combines. Unless someone is scarfing up all the skins ahead of me, I would suspect that this is a pretty rare drop. Of course I still dont have DoD, so maye someone else could give us a hint as to drop rates.

I cleared the corathus/creepreaper camp several times for the Belfast quest and got no skins.

The skins drop off shrooms, not corathus or creep reepers, ergo the name sporali skins. You'll have to either hurt your faction with the sporali or do the 69.2 mission to kill sporali without taking faction hits. Drops in the mission were slow. I got 3 in two nights. I'm not sure how the drops are in Corathus Creep.

Seems I was too quik to jump on the idea. I was apparently very lucky to get three drops in a row the first time through before I got a tell for a group. Since then, I've yet to see any drop.

                  CC and sporali skins

Went from indifferent to kos in 3 hours. killed about 150 -170 sporali. picked up 14 skins. I do not see any pattern. No one particular type or location drops skins more or less than any other. Add to this the time required to get 14 witheran bile ( which I got lucky and bought for 100pp each in bazaar). Out of the 14 combines ( which I failed 3, but salvage worked so it was 17 combines for me) I ended up with 14 prepared skins and 0 skill ups.

Ok - so its a small sample. But time-wise this is not the way to go for me. I have spoken to another person working on skill ups and they got 3 skill ups from 254 - 257 in 25 combines. Its all in the luck of the RNG.

I went and farmed nightmare silks, did 54 masters sleeves combines and got 4 skill ups. sitting at 271 now. I didnt know what to do with all the successes - cant be tributed or sold - so I threw them out.

clearing the 10 or so shrooms in the spore grove (cartografer quest area) and the 2 just on the other side of the wall, i avg about 2-5 skins per clearing, not that bad, i would prefer to do the entrals to 252, then mabey do this with a mix of other stuff, they should sell well in the zar as well, since there used in the final dodh aug combines

problem with that is any stuff used for DoD augment arent sold or are rediculously priced, at least on bert they are. i've been looking for shadowmane pelts and came across only 4 for sale in zaar at 10k each. bile, that tends to sell for, if your lucky, 100pp up to 5k yes i believe it really was 5k. Maybe its just the time when i go to look, but my experience hasnt shown any final combine stuff, or even sub combine stuff to be sold in the zaar.

No, that's just anything that can be used in tailoring, and to a lesser exent Tradeskills in general. People see the Trade skill tag on items and they price them much higher than they are worth. If people would see what people are willing to pay before pricing them they might actually be reasonably priced.

I find it hilarious and infuriating that many times the components for tailoring combines will cost more than the final result will/is selling for in the bazaar.

No, what's more hilarious is that people will then complain that the tradeskillers are ripping them off, when all they're doing is trying to make a reasonable profit based on the prices farmers insist on charging.

Actually, what is rediculous is that tradeskillers often pay those rediculous prices. If everyone refused to pay, then the prices would come down.
