Attempted one just for the fun of it...(tailoring at 179..no geerlok at the time)..

Was not high enough level to do the combine.. so the message said
Anyone know what skill you have to be at even just to attempt this cloak?

Did you fail the combine("You Lacked the Skills") or did it return the ingredients and say "you must raise your skill to attempt"(or whatever that darned message is)?

I honestly didn't know it had a minimum skill check.

I couldn't even click the combine box....
"Your skills are not advanced enough to even attempt this combine"somethign like that...

There is a min skill that you have to be (somewhere between 180 (no GL) and 194 (with GL). A friend attempted the combine..but failed..

There is a skill check associated with this item..
In other words your skill must be xxx to even attempt this combine.

Was just curious if anyone knows the minimum skill you have to be to actually attempt this cloak?

Most likely a minimum skill of 200. So your friend with a 194 and a geerlok was sitting just past the limit so he was allowed to do the combine.

I stand to be corrected by someone higher but like most of the other Velium Furs this trivail >250, probably similar to velium hound. At 232 ive failed twice and that's with a Geerlock, 255 wis and 216 dex, might just have been bad luck I guess.

My success rate on them at 250+ GM needle are 66% (made 20 in 30 tries), so trying at 200 skill is probably not a good idea.

I am 250 with needle and have gotten the cloak 4 out of 6 tries. So it does seem to be about a 66% success rate at that skill level.
