  • Why are Silvery Ribbons No-Trade?

    Subject line says it all...
I had several alts parked at stategic locations. I didn't look closely at the ribbons, just grabbed a stack of them.
Lo! I could not put them in shared bank, as they are denoted NO TRADE.
    Why?? /boggle
I find it a convenient thing when I'm on a grind to park folks hither, thither and yon to obtain a few stacks of this here, and a few stacks of that there, to reduce sheer boredom of running from zone to zone and only being able to obtain a limited number of components. This practice allows me to continue working on something, in this case tailoring, without having to zone over and over and over, as character swap is far faster.
Is this denotation a bug, or intended?

If you think it is annoying, try to imagine back when there was no stone in PoK to take you to GofG. Running through The Warrens and Stonebrunt was not fun just to pick up some ribbons... and depending on the level of your tailor could be a big deal.

Pretty sure the No Trade is intended since it's been there for a couple of years now.

Because then you are required to buy the LoY expansion to take advantage of the tradeskill recipe. All expansions have features, spells, AAs, quests and sometimes tradeskill recipes you cannot use without owning the expansion.

Well do I remember the run through the Warrens...... I was working Temperence Quest/drops long before this wussified stone was installed. And protested it's existence.

So... as the character that's holding this pile o ribbons is a poison maker and smith, and I'm not going to be doing anymore Tailoring on her (did the 54 in Abysmal, as I do with all to get a 'base'), What do I do with these? Sit on them and pray they become droppable someday? Destroy??

I don't see any reason these would ever become droppable, just destroy.

Destroy them OR find a tailor who needs Silvery ______ Ribbons, get the applicable dye, do the combines, and sell to the tailor. Once combined with a dye the ribbons can be traded or sold.

Their is one other method of storing supplies at the spot you are doing tradeskills. I did this with my warrior as getting buffs for a few drops would have been to costly and to much wasted time. I would get killed in arena and then would buy containers of a certain type and load them up with only certain supplies. Get killed again in arena and leave that container on corpse. The time it came to do the combines, I moved all my corpse to the combine zone, for me this was shadowhaven, and got killed there by a friend rogue. Think I had 6 corpses with supplies on them to I wouldn't have to leave the forge, even bought water and store it on the corpses for the same reason, no running around. Only thing I had to run for was to sell the resulting items to vendor.
