Patch of Dire Wolf Fur

Hmph...well, I just reactivated my Halfling Cleric to make some Haversacks...he doesn't have DoN, but that shouldn't effect being able to make those. I have one of the Vale Sewing Kits (the combine should still work in them according to the notes on this website because it's an old combine).
I'm combining 3 (unstacked) Tufts of Dire Wolf Fur and one Embroidering Needle in the Vale Sewing kit and it is telling me that "You cannot combine these items in this container type!"

Am I missing something here? Or is this a bug? Obviously I'm a little frustrated since this was the main reason I reactivated the account.

What you have is the obsolete one. Even though it use to work, it wont work any more. You'll need to either buy another one (from bazaar), or make a new one.

EQTC notes: Cultural containers changed with Dragons of Norrath. This old kit still exists if you had one but cannot be made or purchased from an NPC. The new kit works for both old and new recipes, but this one does not work for the new cultural from DoN.

If what you're saying is true, then they need to change that last sentence to say "but this one does not work for any cultural combines anymore." The way it is stated there implies that it does work for old cultural combines.

I guess I just don't understand why they couldn't have left the old containers like they were. So, am I able to do DoN combines with the new thing without having DoN, then?

Apparently they made some sort of code alteration to the functionality of racial/cultural containers that necessitated the change.

I don't understand why they didn't just replace the old ones with the new ones though.

Would have made life alot easier if they had just replaced the old with the new. /shrug just an extra 10 slot bag in the bank now.
