The new Fier`dal Sewing Kit (obsolete). Where do you get one? It doesn't say where you can purchase this or if it is a drop? Can someone plz help me

On the item it says:

EQTC notes: Cultural containers changed with Dragons of Norrath. This old kit still exists if you had one but cannot be made or purchased from an NPC. The new kit works for both old and new recipes, but this one does not work for the new cultural from DoN.

That should be the information you were looking for.

Does anyone know where or how to get this new kit? I see EQs Note but that's not what I need. I need the new Fier`dal Sewing Kit (obsolete). Does anyone have any information on just where to get one? I can not combine anything in my old Fier`dal Sewing Kit so... I need the new one to work on my tailoring.

If you have information on where to get or make the new Fier`dal Sewing Kit (obsolete) can someone plz post back.

So?? How do you get the new Fier`dal Sewing Kit (obsolete)??? If you can't make this Item & No sources are found to buy this then how do you get the new Fier`dal Sewing Kit (obsolete)?

So frustrated atm I spent a lot of time 6 months ago saving pelts to tailor & I come back to find I can not combine.

Yep Flehmen have that in fact made it myself! But I can't combine anything with the old kit I've tried. I need the new kit to combine.

I can now only combine with this new fier`dal sewing kit (obsolete) I can't combine anything with the old kit I have tried. It now requires the new fier`dal sewing kit (obsolete) on all combines & it also gives no new Recipes to make this new fier`dal sewing kit (obsolete).

I think you are misunderstanding a critical point here.

"Obsolete" means "no longer used."

What you need is the NEW kit, which is made using:

• Mithril bits
• Needle Mold
• Thimble Mold
• Water Flask

It will work for old and new cultural. If this is what you made, but it is not working, then I'd ask if you made it BEFORE DoN came out. If so, make a new one. Yours is obsolete.

K I tried this combine & it would not work. It also claims you need a small brick of your racial metal which I can not find. I tried a search here also but nothing. I tried this combine already without the small brick of racial metal & it would not work. So... Where is this Racial Metal? It would be nice for EQTraders to add this Combine into the system. I found this Recipe by visiting Sherin Matrick in POK & bought the Sewing Kits for all Book when I didn't get an answer here. But... I am still missing the Racial Metal that it claims I need for this combine.

For the racial sewing kits

Combine the following in your racial forge:

Small Brick of your racial metal

Needle Mold

Thimble Mold

Water Flask

Those recipes should work right now, so let me know if you see any issues.

I also forgot to address fletching kits. I know about the Surefall kit. If I remember correctly that kit was for Karana Rangers only. I'll make that one work with the new system, there will be no change to the recipe to make it, just to the Surefall Kit itself.

For the Fier'Dal Fletching Kit the recipe will remain the same, but will produce a new kit that will work properly.

Both of those changes will go in with the next regular patch. I'm sorry about the oversight and the fact that you won't be able to make recipes that require those two kits until the next patch.

Your racial metal.. Wood elf? Mithril. GO to Kelethin. You will have to make this in the RACIAL forge also. Mithril is sold on a vendor very near the cultural forge. use *find* button and look for smithing supplies.
Racial forge location (since It wont tell you which one of the 3 forges it is..)
from newbie lift on that first platform, there is a bridge to your right, then there is a ramp UP second from right. take it up (smithing vendor is on this level) grab your ore, then go up one more level to the forge.

I am there now & tried small brick of Mithril but it didn't work. I tried this on 2 Forages so far where I use to smith at but it wouldn't work on either. I am going to try now to look for the third forage:P I knew 2 existed but not three.

Did a search on both Forages also but nothing came up.

-474.40, 82.78 is the location I am at right now.

I found the Third Forage at Loc -69.51, 77.21 right across from Merchant Uaylain (Smithing Supplies) I tried the combine in this forage also & it says Your Race cannot do tradeskills in this container LOL!!!! So... It looks like this is for another Race.

Racial Metal & This combine...

Ok I tried all three Metals Now with this combine using a Block Of Mithril, Large block of Mithril & Small block of Mithril on both Forges but I get the same message You cannot combine these items in this container type! The third Forge here in GF I can't use.

Is there something missing from this combine?

this is not the right forge. go up another level. that's the normal forge.. and the one near the Bard house is the half elf forge.

The point that is causing confusion I think is that the recipies on the site haven't been changed to show to use the new kit. They show the old kit (that you have) which is now (obsolete). To make the new kit, you need to use the recipie given here (water flask, thimble mold, needle mold, mithril bits). Yes, I know that is the same recipie that you used to make your old kit, but now it makes the new kit. For most races you would need a small brick of (racial metal), but for the 2 races (Wood Elf, Halfling) that previously had to make their cultural sewing kit, they used the existing recipie, and merely changed the result. So just follow Ellysandra's instructions to find the racial forge, and do the combine with mithril bits, rather than a small brick of mithril.
