  • Tailoring 223, which path to take

My Tailoring is at 223. I was wonder what path I should do...I have a small stock pile of Shimming Ukun Hides (Troll DoN) but I am thinking I should do something else till I get to 252 (get the benefit of the Higher Trival Ukun hide can get too and not use up too much of my stock pile.

I'm not sure what I should farm or what not any help be appreciated. I am low on funds as the smithing runs and recent buys have drained me. About 100kpp left.

I just saw Wvyern Hides for 200pp but I still need the Cod's and Velium to do the combines.

When 100k counts as low on cash, something is horribly, horribly wrong.

I think the most i ever had was 30k

If the culteral takes you over 252, I would save those until you trivial velious leathers. With the pending change in othmir fur trivials, you'll start to be really limited in training paths past 252, so I wouldn't waste your limited culteral supplies.

I just got done last night doing black panther, haze panther and arctic wyvrn combines so I could use my othmir & holgresh fur which was sitting in the bank before they changed the trivials on me.

Was a lot of farming with my ranger. And I'll have to admit, that the forage rate on yew leaves is absolutely aweful. I actually broke down and bought stacks of yew leaves in the bazaar at around 150p per leaf because my constant foraging while hunting panthers simply wasn't enough. Fortunately, my main is a gnome, so I was able to convert the haze panther eyes I found into gnomish vanishing devices and make enough profit to pay for my habit.

You can mix in some - dare I say it - Solstice robes. Ok, now they burn Gem Studded chains. Just a bit more plat. Clearly depends on server, but I have about 200 GSC left over from my JC push to 300 - I'm reluctant to tribute them all, so I'm looking for a mad Tailor on The Rathe to unload them on...perhaps you will find a jeweler on your server.

Yeah...been thinking about doing the velious leathers....Wyvern and the Furs...but farming agian is not that appealing...though Robes are exspensive now. Yeah I had almost 1 mil pp before I decided to burn a lot on smithing skilling and other things.

If you are at max level of a new expansion and able to solo you can often earn alot of pp.
Alternate you can earn cash on tradeskills or normal farm / sell but the largest amount of cash is at the end game.

Doubt I could ever get a million pp

The only feasable way to make it is to have dealed in Discordiant Scoraie upgrading that I would think of.. or Slugworms, etc.

Other than that and Blade of Carnage selling if you have an uber group of friends to go and take AoW from the lower end guilds.

But as for day to day.. naw...

DoN per mission is only about 200pp... I spend half that for convict or kei sometimes. Im still getting upgrades from DoN in the way of augs, so I cant sell the crystals, and their value is down to 100-150pp per, far from the 300 they were at.

Most rune camps while soloable, are still not particularly easy or run of the mill. Theres camps like Droga for Copper Hammer of Striking and maybe another item or two. But overall Ive seen the bazaar plummet.

Making anywhere from 2k to 20k in a day is possible.... depending largely on your luck. But to get to 1million pp, you have to start the buy/sell game in the bazaar. Buy something for 80k pp and sell for 160k pp.
Thats the way the truely rich do it, as far as I know.

My tailoring is similar to the topic creators, 228, and ive still got about 50 robe combines to go.... so i reckon i need 48 gem studded chains.

To make 1mil pp you just need to go to RCOD with you main 70sk, your wife's shaman and your bot mage. (I can 3 box) Then farm Bowlord Rorn, Ungi, and Kyv Bowhound, its not hard to make lot of pp when you can sell there rare drops for up to 100k.

As for skilling....guess it of to farm for stacks of Velious stuff.

Ive made around 500k on muramite runes, i can solo aproximatly 1/ hour and sell them for 20 to 25k a piece (was back in autum).
I didnt need any don crystals so saved up around 1000 to the day they where dropable and sold them for around 500 / crystal.
I have soloed diffrent items in oow (nameds in particular) and GoD and get items who sell from betwen 5 to 50k.
Beside that ive made a bit on tradeskills but dount ive ever got more than 500k on those and i have spent far more skilling up.
So its quite easy to make cash when you are at the max level and isnt afraid of trying something new.
All it take is play time and focus on it.

As for making a good amount of pp without a high end char... celestial essences are a nice option, profit is about 3.5K for an hour of work and they sell fast in the bazaar. Spiderling silk, (rockhopper) hides for tailoring and leather padding are also reasonable money makers depending on what server your on. And always check what people are looking to buy in barter mode that you can create/get your hands on, nice profits can be made here, and you know up front you will be able to sell m right away =)
Also compare buyers offers with bazaar prices, I often wake up in the morning to discover I still have to run my buyer to the red bazaar area because some people sell the bloods Im looking for a couple of hundred plat less than what Im offering for them in buyer mode, its easy zero risk plat.

And last but not least, another thing that helps keep your platinum in your bank: Buy cheap!! don't walk into the bazaar and buy everything you want right away, make a list of the items you'd like, and keep an eye on their prices for a few days untill they hit what youd want to pay for them, items fluctuate a lot in price, and you can save a ton of platinum with a little patience =)

As for a way to 252 tailoring to get back on the origional topic, you might want to look into acrylia reinforced gear to 242 next to the methods others have alrdy mentionned.

Buying early is more important than just buying cheap. If you start buying what you need early you don't have to be stuck with the anomaly that buying in bulk causes each item to be 200% more expensive per unit.

About how many combines you all think it take to get to 252 from 223 (29 skill ups)?

Comes down to the exactely same thing, since buying early is what leads to buying cheap, since your only purchasing the items that are in your opinion well priced, and leaving the expensive ones there instead of purchasing everything you want right away =P
Which would be equal to "Don't walk into the bazaar and buy everything you want right away, keep an eye on the prices for a few days untill they hit what you want to pay for them." All it comes down too is taking time to be able to buy at low prizes.
If Bazu blood is 4K on monday... and I keep checking the prizes and find m for 1.9K on friday... you can look at it 2 ways... either that I waited, or that I started early =) I buy about 15 bloods a week at a price I like, so if I needed 60 of them it would take me 4 weeks (and save me 120K), If I started 4 weeks earlier... still would have taken me 4 weeks to get them at the same price. Same amount of bloods, same amount of pp, same amount of time, just leave those expensive items alone if you want to save plat =)

I keep 1 skill up for every 20ish combines in mind when tradeskilling, so around 600 combines.
