Great Reptile Hide...

with all this chit chat at the Fan Faire and Summit...was anything heard about them looking at drop rates of some DoN stuff? Still cant get any great reptile hides to drop and my halfling tailor would love to be making this stuff....200 haversacks and not one skill up, so need something else to make!

Drop rate on Greater Reptile Hide stinks

AGREE - the drop rate on these hides need to be looked into, especially when compared to other Master DoN drops like Shissar Scales.

I usually drop into CT every night and kill the ones in the courtyard and maze for a few rounds b4 logging, and out of at least 200+ kills in the last week I've received ZERO hides and 2 Greater Reptile Teeth for Iksars.

The only "good" thing I found by accident is the Raptor Cap tributes for almost 2k - but since Lore getting those to drop multiple times during a session ends up making me even more frustrated.

With Othmir furs getting nerfed next week I'm hoping they up the drop rate on these hides or my options for skilling up as a halfling tailor are VERY slim.

I know one of the tooth's dropped off a Jungle Raptor - can't remember which mob dropped the other.

Allah has the Great Reptile Hide confirmed dropping off 3 raptors in CT so far: A Fierce Jungle Raptor, A Jungle Raptor, and A Tiger Raptor. I've also been killing the Fierce Tiger Raptor and Frenzied Tiger Raptor's but still no success there either.

I don't have access to VP any more so can't confirm if they drop there or more frequently than CT.

Had one hide drop the other night while camping 4C in CT. Was off the fierce jungle raptor that roams past the first set of stairs when you just arrive at camp. Never saw any in CY but they should be able to drop there too.

I think Tooth drops off of crocodiles like PoN or PoE? Never saw any hide drop in the entrance area and I've killed enough lizards to get 100 Tae Ew blood (at least) since the patch, so yeah I wouldn't count on that as a source.

spent 5ish hours clearing the southeast region of nightmare with my wife and our bots. got 103 nightmare arachnid silk swatches for her master level DEF tailoring. got ZERO great reptile teeth for my iksar's smithing. such a lovely disparity. 51 combines for her compared to ZERO combines for moi.

Tooths

I've snagged teeth off croc's (basilisks) in Plane of Earth. supposedly they drop in Nightmare also. I've never seen a tooth in in CT.

That said from my poaching in POE there is a drop table for crocs, if you can call it that, there are 2 kinds of teeth they also drop a scale and "mud clod" both vendor fodder. One tooth is vendor fodder and the other is tradeskill. After killing a few hundred POE croc's I have managed to collect like 6 or 7 tradeskill teeth. They are very very rare drops of mobs that very very rarely drops anything (hence the comment about there being a drop table). So far the named croc's haven't dropped them.

Well, previous posts lead me to think coming up with the PoR Expansion. I'm debating if I should be burning off the remaining few Shissar scales I have lol.

Ngreth has already said the changes would not be coming with the launch of PoR; last I heard, he had estimated a March-April time frame (and I emphasize the "estimated" part). I believe he'd also said that any changes will be announced to allow folks to use up their stuff. I'm not 100% sure about that last bit, but he seems a sensible fellow (for an ogre ) and that would be the best way to go about this, so that no one loses out.

Does this mean that changes to DoN cultural recipes will be made to use items not as rare? I was under the impression the drop rates or mobs for the drops would change, not the recipes. Will the recipes change?

The decisions have not yet been made. So I do not have any specific answers.
