  • Can't do steelsilk combines.

My erudite wizard is trying to make imbued steelsilk items and having no luck. Is that the problem: I'm a wizard? All the recipes mention is that I have to be a erudite to do the combines, their is no mention of class restrictions at all. Help?

It would help if you would say what exactly are the materials you have to combine and what you are trying to combine them in. Without that information it is hard for someone to make a suggestion. Also you have to remember that cultural tradeskills need to be combined in specific containers.
If you are doing Erudite cultural tailoring make sure you have the Erudite sowing kit and not a regular one.

Excuse me, but I've got the right materials AND the right container which is my whole point. I followed as it is posted on this site and it still doesn't work so is there a class or religous restriction that I don't know about.

Easy there, Kumulas is making a common request. Sometimes there are ingredients that are commonly mistaken for others or easily overlooked. He's just trying to help.

No, there are no class restrictions on anything other than alchemy, tinkering, or poisonmaking.

It's possible that something happened to the old cultural containers when the new, DoN cultural was added. We're told the old containers are still supposed to work with the old stuff, but maybe they got borked anyway. Maybe try in one of the new DoN containers that must be made with tradeskills? They're both called the same thing: Erudite Sewing Kit.

A thimble mold, a needle mold, a water flask and a small brick of titanium in a erud forge. I got the molds from Tratlan Matrick in POK (he's in western trade building next to bazaar entrance) and the titanium from the female smithing supply merchant near the palace steps in Erudin. The erud forge is right around the corner from her.

All I can suggest is try it in the other forges in the area. It's possible something happened and it's not the cultural forge. Also maybe double check it's a small brick and not a small piece of Titanium.

OP, you say you're a wizard. Are you 100% sure that you are using *imbued* versions of the gems required? I always find it a pita to find an erudite cleric to imbue stuff for me.

I'm an Erudite wizard as well (agnostic) and I've made regular Steelsilk armor pieces before with no problems, in the old cultural sewing kit as well as the new one. Never did any imbued Steelsilk, however. I know the new Erudite tailoring kit works fine on regular Steelsilk, at least as of before this week's patches when I last did any tailoring.

Infused Terrorantula Silk combine (Terrorantula Swatch and Celestial Temper) gives me a DNC in the old kit.
