  • Poor Goblin Disguise

I have some questions regarding the following combine:

    Poor Goblin Disguise
    NO DROP
    Charges: 1
Effect: Goblin Disguise (Any Slot, Casting Time: Instant)
    WT: 1.5 Size: MEDIUM
    Class: ALL
    Race: ALL
EQTC notes: Spell Effect: Cloaks you in a shimmering ilusion that makes you appear to be a Goblin

    1. Is it a restricted combine? Can non-druids make it?
    2. How hard or better yet how long does it take on average to obtain the materials that drop off goblins that are used in this combine?
    3. Has anyone used the effect? How long does it last?

    Thanks,

    Klaytor

Nope. My iksar necro made one. Forage with an iksar on a massive forage table (EJ) if you really enjoy pain.

The goblin drop parts? Pretty common. Doubt it took me 30 minutes in Droga.

    3. Has anyone used the effect? How long does it last?

Yup. 20 minutes or so, not sure on faction hit, halved my CHA as well I found out when I went to a vendor.

        Disguise but not an 'appearance'

Note also that this does NOT make you appear to be a goblin. It just makes goblins (who apparently aren't too bright) willing to talk to you. For a moment. It doesn't even seem to stop you from aggroing them, based on my 3-so-far attempts to do the Hide and Seek event.

The goblin parts were pretty easy, all I did for that was sit in front of the Droga entrance and pick off the pops there as they came up. After my first attempt failed I stopped destroying 'extras' so that I didn't have to farm as long for subsequent attempts.

The forage items were easy with the exception of the Emerald Leaves. I agree with the comment on the huge forage table for that one.

I can't imagine why anyone other than a druid doing the Epic event would want this.

          Because of

"Spell Effect: Cloaks you in a shimmering ilusion that makes you appear to be a Goblin"

Imagine my anger/frustration/pure annoyance with finding out I was not a gobbie...merely "uglier".

Glad I read this before making a few of these for fun. What the hell were they thinking not coding the kit to change skins??

More than likely that that goblin model is not a global model. Global means it works in every single zone because its part of the image file that loads up when you load the main EQ game (all player character models are global, elves, humans, trolls, mage pets, skeletons, BL warders, etc). Most mob models are specific to the zone (tho you may see them in multiple zones), the data for that model is part of the zone file it loads up when you zone into there.
