My opinion is that it is FAR easier to farm the parts for shawl combine than it is to farm parts for tailoring skill ups.
I have done up to Shawl 7 on 4 characters, none of them had higher than Tailoring 158 ( plus Geerlok ) when doing the shawl combines.
The silk from Velks is a pain but the only failure I have ever had was on one combine with the bile.
the Parts from 6 aren't bad when you are over 60, The wolf whiskers seeming to be the rarest. Manticore Manes and Beards are usually cheap in the Bazaar.
Siren Hairs usually only take about 30 min to get 2.
I have done as many 4 attempts on Shawl 6 but would far rather farm those items than the 150+ Rockhopper hides and tons of Acrylia needed just to get to 188.
If you want to skill up anyways Robes are good to 218 ish, then use the few points doing ethreal swatches. then Back to Rockhoppers or Velious stuff.
