Will already existing whips be retro-fitted with the level requirement, or remain equippable by all levels, do you think? My 42 ranger has a whip that I paid good plat for, and I'd be pretty cranky if they upped and made it so he couldnt use it. Putting the 60 req. on it will also seriously reduce its baz market value, so I cant even get my money back out of it.

Leave it to Sony to nerf more things to hurt the players instead of helping them. They haven't fixed the many broken recipes or quests or addressed balance issues as they promised, but that's Sony.... more hurt and empty promises again. And we wonder why so many people are gone

All of them changed, not just newly created ones. So if you have it equipped, you can actually still use it. Until you die, of course....

its the right thing to do

i always wondered why there was no level limit. but a low level melee Dual Wielding these was probably causing some balance issues. thats my guess. like my 35 ranger. i can easily hold aggro w/o taunting dual wielding these. i usually would have to switch to a lower delay weapon so i dont get beat on.

but if they are gonna put a required level 60. it better have more stats than there is now, or it will never really sell.

When the velium gemmed weapons were switched to req. level, my rogue kept hers equipped and still has it equipped. I agree with the poster above - when the smithed weapons gained required levels they also gained stats appropriate to those required levels. I'd hope to see 70 to 80 HP/MANA/END and other stats to match added to the whips.

Splunge, have any of the lower quality whips from GoD also been changed to required levels?

Didnt make any of the lame whips. I made the good stuff to sell/give away, but now i cant give my 31 ranger friend a pair of these... grr..

Steel-Laced Aged Bull Whip is 12/20. That's fairly close to the DPS of the Steel-Laced Aged Snake Whip, especially at lower levels when DPS is mostly due to ratio. There's other stuff out there that has a similar ratio, but it would still be worth making.

I agree that they should have a recommended level added to it. I have one on my twink warrior and it is so much better than anything else I could get him that doesn't have a recommended level it's almost unfair.

I do think that 60 is too high though. At 60 you could use the Velium Gemmed weapons that are much better along with many other choices. The whip would drop to almost worthless instantly.

A better recommended level would be somewhere in the 30s. That way the whip would be fairly positioned as an upgrade to the Lamentation/Defiance (9/19 ratio) most light twinks are using without totally eliminating any sales potential it has.

Compare it to these easy common items from Draniks Scar.

                    http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70026

And this also common item from Nobles Causeway

                    http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=70127

Superior ratio, but absolutely NO stats, NO hp and NO effects.

Recommended 50 or 52 would be good and reasonable.

Required 60? Put the pipe down. Youve had too much. Go sleep it off.

Well, yet another decent tradeskill item, nerfed into a piece of garbage!

I cannot fathom the logic behind some of their decisions.

They are changed on Test, not live, and Lucy's collector works on Test rarely...very rarely.

While you're free to gripe a little, please back off of any insults towards Sony and the developers. By all means /feedback, especially if it still exists in Test only, but watch what you say here. Some of the posts in this thread are beginning to dance a little too close to the border (hint hint). Thanks!
