Bridging The Gap From 187 to Near 212

OK, I'm at skill 187 and I'm trying to see the best way to get near 212 to do DE cultural tailoring to 232. I'd like some input on the following combines:

#1 Shaded Hide Skullcap (triv 182-217)
Requires:
(2) Mind Worm Hide, from Akheva Ruins
(1) Shaded Skullcap, lore item, no-drop from Akheva Ruins or Maiden's Eye

Q: Has anyone tried to get these drops? If so, how was the drop rate?

Due to the Shaded Skullcap being lore, this is likely a bad route...farm, combine...farm, combine...etc., just ran across the recipe here at eqtraders.

#2 Boot Gasket (triv 202)
Requires Severed Feran Tentacle from "a Stalking Feran" in Nobles Causeway.

Q: Any feedback on drop rate? (I hope to kite these mobs since I kite gliders there frequently).

#3 Robe of the Cyclone (triv 212)
DE cultural robe, requires rune of the cyclone and cursed clover of viesar as bottleneck items.

Q: Any feedback on skillup rate from 187-212? A little concerned that the trivial is too far away at 25 points..could be just over-reacting..heh.

Shaded hide items aren't going to work for skilling up. Mind worm hides are rare, shaded armor pieces even more rare. In a 4-6 hour stine, you might get 0-2 pieces... and they drop at random.

Robes are good, and even just the ribbons if you have the plat..... any of the veliuos leathers (wyvern in particular.. but raptor is good too if you can forage, or your guild does tov a lot). You can get another point with the studded acrylia (its tailoring, a point is still considered somethign here), and all the way to 212 with the reinforced.

Severed feran tentacles seem to be few and far between on D Ro.... it was hard as heck to get my ice cream churn made (takes 3 boot gaskets per churn) and they have not been in the bazaar as of yet either.... how about the hynid hair thread? I hear some people like those....

If you're KT flagged and get regular groups there then Hynid Manes, Hynid Hair Threads and Muramite Residue drops will help with the gap.
Hynid Manes can drop in lower GoD zones also but the latter two are KT only.

I killed hynids in Natimbi for 3 hours, got 0 manes. I'd love to use Barbed Stock Whip to skill up on, but if manes are that rare...

Think any Hynid can drop them but guessing the harder the Hynid the more likely to get a mane, 3 hours in KT nets about 8-10 perhaps.
In any case it's not enough of a constant drop to be viable as a consistent skill up route, I just like to patch the whips in.

You're likely to have more luck in Qinimi and above, but they're not the best of solo spots.

The hynids in Natimbi actually have a reasonable drop rate on manes, if you're going that route. It's still nothing spectactular, though - maybe one in five or ten kills. I've been leveling my 54 Bard there to get some experience while farming.
