  • Black Panther skin advice

I've taken the dive into tailoring and know the insanity that will follow. I have planned a somewhat guide of the path I'm going to follow and have collected/foraged what I need. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I looked on a mule and have 260 black pantherskins. Why so many?? I use to farm haze eyes for invis devices that my tinker makes and every time i got a pelt or so would put in my mules inventory....

So the question now becomes is this a viable skill up and if so what level should I start using them as there triv 335. How many possible skill ups can I count on? I know the rng very well so this is a loaded question. This is my final tradeskill to gm. I can thank aid grimel for this headache.

    Thanks for any input,

I would say it depends on how many yew leaves you can get, needing 260 is a daunting thing

3 hours in WL I managed to forage...one...single....yew leaf, I quickly ruled that out as an option.

About the only way to get that many Yew leafs is to cheat, or to by them in the bazaar from someone who has cheated. The things are nearly impossible to find on the ground and you can expect to forge about one an hour

          update

I had to confirm the forage and look for ground spawn to see how rare it is and now know why its such pita to skill up on. With 2 toons foraging non stop it was like 3 a hour maybe a little more. I was able to forage 200 steamfont waters and will use that to skill up to 187 or so, then the standard solstice to 210. Free points after that. Was hoping black panther combine, but looks like acrylia now. Thanks for the advice all

I used to have one toon fishing in CS for the Cod Fish to make Cod Oil and have another toon killing Wyverns for the hide at the same time ... this was how I got through tailoring doing Arctic Wyvern

I know I have said this before...but I'll say it again. The salvage AA skill really helps when doing the 335 skill combines. It manages to save a lot of otherwise lost components. It is great to have this skill prior to doing a large skill up run like you are planning to do in tailoring.

Best of luck to you - and remember, a person with a natural score of 240 with a geerlok combines as well as a person with 250 skill with a geerlok.
