  • Am I missing something here - Stonehide Tunic

I am new to this as you will see I want to have these made for my Beastlord, to me it looks very simple. All the items are readily accessable:

    Tunic Pattern - storebought
Earth Mephit Skin - Bazaar 30pp
Emblem of Earth - bazaar 5500p
Planar Steel Stud - crafted at 54 smithing (didn't see any in bazaar, but shouldnt be hard to get)
    Planar Sewing Kit - storebought

    Trival in tailoring at 250

So whats the catch, I know I am missing something here. These sell in bazaar for 100K. All the items can be purchased for less than 5600p. Finding someone with the skill to combine for 10K should be an easily thing to find. Am I missing something or can it that easily accomplished?

    Thanks

    Yes, you are missing something.

The planar steel studs have a temper component, the temper takes liquefied earth. Price that on your server if you can find it, I can't remember how much I paid for mine, but I know it was around 20k - each. Each temper will make 2 studs, if you want a tunic, it takes 5 studs.

Trivial on Stonehide Tunic is 335 - took me two attempts to make it.

Liquefied Earth drops from a ring event in earth, I have seen 5 drop in our 3 three events.

Doing a search here on Planar Steel Studs reveals that you need:

liquid stone temper - earth mephit blood, liquified earth, powdered granite
planar steel bits(3) - brick of immaculate steel, smithing chisel
      file

powdered granite - chips of granite(3)

Try pricing out/checking the availablility of the earth mephit blood, the liquified earth, and the chips of granite (times 3). Don't know about the blood and chips of granite, but I have seen the liquified earth sell for 15kp on Morell-Thule.

[Edit] Missed the number of studs part; 100k sounds like a steal given the cost and number of components. Must be one heck of a tunic.

I felt the need to make a slight correction here- you can get liquiefied eartj from more than the ring events. The mud golems will drop them outside the ring events as well in PoE, but they do ~seem~ more common in the mud event (although, that may be from how many of the suckers you have to kill with a large force to finish the ring)

Agree - In all my time spent in Earth, I have seen 1 L.E. drop NOT during the ring event. Seen more drop in the 2 events we have done. It's also important to note that the mud golems are not the normal targets during the xp grind in PoE, so the drop rate may be very comparable - just the ring you kill far far more of these than a normal xp group would.

            Good point Fae.

I can usually bully the group to move over to the golems if they have been on the receiving end of my tailoring. After a couple hours of complaining about the blind we usually end up moving back hehe. That said.... my personal experience is usually ~1 in 30. More common than the stonewood bone staffs at least, but the area to kill is harder to handle for about the same XP, so folks don't bother.

Quick note about the blind: Get your magic resist up. (Chanter's Guard of Druzzil is great.) If your MR is over 200, you're completely immune to the blind effect.
