  • Is Phase Spider Silk a viable path?

I'm desperately struggling, trying to let the intensive care ward let me out for a few hours at a time for tailoring... yep, that's about how everyone perceives tailoring, right? Well, I think I may have found a solution, albeit a bit slow if you don't have a helping hand, but even then, you might not want to complain.

In Dragon Necropolis, killing phase spiders near the entrance has a chance to yield a Phase Spider Silk... well, you bring your handy tailoring kit with you (like you ever left it behind!), get killing some spiders, every second silk you get, you stuff them into your kit and you're well on the road to 222 tailoring!

Well, the reason I bother even bringing this up, though, is because I noticed it later than I wanted to, but I'd be interested in tailors everywhere going out and testing this process to see if it really can be a higihly effective single camp-based tailoring skill up. Any feedback would be appreciated, as I hope that this may be effective enough to be the "best" way, similar to Enchanted Velium Bits for smithing.

I hope this may be useful!

    The pros:
You will gain xp (slowly) while camping here.

At 65, it is an easy, almost no-risk camp (for a BST, anyway.)

You might get PSCs to drop, which you can sell.

    The cons:
The silks are too rare to use for skilling up...unless you plan on camping here for a LONG time.

It's pretty far out of the way for most people, but that's easily overcomable.

Though the area is easy, if you are not careful, you can spawn dragon contructs. They are definitely doable, but are WAY tougher than the spiders. Best bet is to just avoid the traps that spawn them. You'll learn where they are.

So, I would say that it is a POSSIBLE path, but not a very good one.

I was here for 2.5 hours to get enough for 2 combines.

Way to rare for a viable skillup path.

Last time I was there I got about 12 silks in an hour. 6 attempts at a 222 trivial per hour is pretty good if you can't do LoY robes. If you can't do those robes, its something worth trying if you can kill them fast enough to make it worthwhile.
