  • Human/High Elf Issues with Cultural LoY Robes

I know that Human isn't the most popular choice for spellcaster, but there are plenty of High Elf spellcasters, and I'm furious about how shafted we get on our cultural robes!!

Gnomes get SH 3, Erudites ID3, Iksar BA3, Dark Elves get regeneration, what do we get??

    Regeant Conservation 3! Woo! NOT!

This is bogus! I want an effect that I can sell

RCIII is cool for people who expend gems on buffs, along with any other consumables spells... A lot of people keep an extra robe or item with RCIII on it in inventory for when they're going to be casting a bunch of reagent spells, then swap it for their normal combat robes later.

Granted, some of the other ones are better, but there's still SOME market I would think.

What I dislike is that the Tribute values for some of the robes (ex: High Elf Robe of Virtue & Human Robe of Capacity) have always been less than for any of the other robes.... (both before and after the values were recently nerfed...er "fixed")

      Code:
      [B]Race Robe Current / Previous
                                                      Tribute Values[/B]

High Elf Robe of Virtue 3000 points / 8175 points
Erudite Robe of Tempest 7500 points / 20199 points
Dark Elf Robe of Abrogation 7500 points / 12627 points
Gnome Robe of Intellect 7500 points / 8400 points
Human Robe of Capacity 1875 points / 6157 points
Iksar Robe of Misery 7492 points / 8400 points
Why are 4 of the robes values almost the same (Iksar is off by 8 pts) but the other two so woefully less?

Do you have the tribute value for the lessor robes?

You can probably find them on Lucy, that's where I found the values for the robes I didn't already know about.

              re:

What kind of ape programs stuff like this intentionally?

I mean it's virtually set in stone now, there are so many more important issues - it will never be addressed.

And thankyou for pointing out that tribute thing, that's a complete joke.

My guess would be that certain focus effects are worth more tribute, hence the discrepancy. IE, because reagent conservation is far less powerful than Improved damage, it adds up to fewer tribute points. I agree, though, humans got the short end of the deal, but at least we got a cultural robe...having done tailoring to 221 on a half-elf once already, I'm grateful that human cleric even has the option.

The tribute values are based on bazaar prices. A few of the tribute values have been set by hand but mostly it's automated. High elf and human robes have a long history of low bazaar prices, while erudite and dark elf robes have a long history of high bazaar prices. It's because most players agree that certain focus effects, well, suck.

I'm going to make a guess....

Component rarity? As a DE I know I rarely see components for DE cultural tailoring for sale at ANY price.

I suck at this game, your mileage WILL vary. My path is probably NON-optimal.
